but could be happy with a third party (or good deal Canon) 70-200mm f/2.8

looking to buy NLT April 4th.

There are at least two Canon 70-200 f/2.8L USM lenses for sale right now in the 'For Sale' pages. About $900, I think.

For what it's worth, the new Tamron 70-200 G2 is well reviewed and seems like a bargain at 1299. I'm going that route.

If I wanted a 70-200 2.8, I'd get the Canon original. I'm happy with my f/4L.

It's definitely nice that there are so many viable options these days. It seems everyone who has an f4 loves it.

But if they tried the 2.8 they'd never go back to the F4.. Speed kills my friend.

Love my f4 as well. The 2.8 is just too large for so many things. I opted for the 135L instead if I need fast.

Getting better at this - Fuji X-t3 x2 - Laowa 9mm - 16 1.4 - 16-80 - 35/50/90 f2 - 50-140 - flickr (external link) - www.scottaticephoto.com (external link)

I just bought a 135L ..actually scheduled to be delivered tomorrow :) That is why I'm selling my 70-200 2.8. It's a fantastic lens, but I've been dreaming of that 135L for a long time now.

Great advice guys and thanks for the links.

This would be for my friend, so I'll try to convince him on the f/4L. I really liked that lens back in the day as well.
