Quick question I hate to ask

I hate to ask this but am having a hard time on deciding on what to purchase next. I'll eventually get both items in a few months but which to buy now. I'm trying to decide between a lens or a battery pack for on location shoots. The lenses I currently use canon efs10-18mm and 50mm 1.8 II. I'm trying to decide if an additional lens like the 85mm 1.8 or a vagabond mini lithium would suit me best.
What do you guys think?

If you're not running out of juice to take pics in a session I'd buy the lens first.

Sorry forgot to mention currently using speedlights for location but am wanting to use my strobes for more power but also want a longer focal length lense

Let your NEEDS dictate what you buy next, always! Otherwise you are simply throwing money at whimsical purchases.

That's why I'm leaning more towards the lens as I can still use the speedlights for location although not as powerful as my strobes but still usable.

Hey, it's true that a good lens pretty much can top the list, whatever you can afford ...!

As to the battery situation, well I'd say yes, get ehat you need to do your stuff! I made a habit of carrying spare batteries, well-charged. That has gone both for flashes and also my camera(s)! Believe me, I've had a few occasions when I had forgotten to pack spares, and really needed them! Flashes can be a real headache when it comes to wearing out those batteries!

As to having and using a charger when you are at a job, well, that would certainly be a challenge, although having a vehicle on hand that you can plug the battery charger(s)into the lighter socket, yeah, that would be a plus!

And then, I had to make sure that I always had my multiple chargers up and running scattered around my home "office". Have those spares on hand, there is a good reson why we pack bags with plenty of pockets!
