I had a simple question, "If I have the latest versions of the stand alone LR and PS versions installed on my PC, and I go with the CC Photography version (subscription....the horror of the thought), should I first deactivate/uninstall the stand alone versions before downloading the CC version?" It was if they do not want to answer the question and supply answers around the periphery of the question. This seems to be my experiences of using "Chat", for various companies. Should I expect no less? Now, what are the thoughts about my question?

I am not defending their non-answer but there may not be an answer that is always correct (uninstall/deactivate/leave as is).

Although I don't use them since I have gone to CC, I have CS5 and Lightroom 3 on my computer. They are still activated and operational.

From my point of view, no reason to deactivate/uninstall but I am no expert on your system.

Gart

I use two machines at work, PCs, 7 enterprise. The one that has CC installed over CS6 can be pretty much unusable at times. I use it for tethered shooting ... not with Adobe.

My main computer is CS6, other than not having CC it is set up exactly the same. It works fine.

Don't ask why the weird set up. Corporate BS that I might one day decide to tackle. I'm fine with CS6 it works.

No real comment on Adobe support.

As already stated, you do not need to uninstall your previous versions. In fact, before my reformat and reinstall of everything, each CC update to LR left me with the old version still intact and usable.
