Apr 02, 2017 09:38 | #1 This is a white light shot of the Sun on April Fools Day. Thousand Oaks filter on my Canon 500L + 1.4 TC. Atmospheric conditions were fair at best so I was pleased to be able to get what I did. The dot at the top right is Earth for scale comparison.  Crop:  Steve

The scale is incredible when you think about how Earth can fit several times in the umbra of these spots, big great sources of magnetic polarity shifting and flux. I'd love to have H-alpha solar capabilities but no funds remain. Yep, MalVeauX does amazing work and has some nice gear to do it right. Steve
