I'm guessing that they are fishing for "customers" somehow. Expecting you to visit their page, either out of curiosity or interest, for faving your photo.

I guess that is the trouble of posting a question on line, I think my question is getting lost! What they do with their life doesn't affect me, I am just trying to figure why SO MANY of them are faving my photos? I cannot see the connection. I look at others and their photostream and I don't see the same type of participation that i am receiving.

I'm further removed from the situation than you are, so this is pure speculation, but . . .

Your POTN gallery page has several images of lovely young women, perhaps senior portraits. If that's mostly what you put on Flickr, it may attract attention from people who have a strong interest in female beauty, whether or not the models are modestly dressed and posed. This category might include pornographers who admire such features of your photos as smiles, hair/makeup, and lighting and want to learn to do the same thing in order to produce higher-class porn.

The test would be what photos besides yours get Likes from these same people. Do they go around thumbs-upping everyone's shots of pretty women while neglecting landscapes, still lifes, and other genres?

Some may also hope that you'll give them Likes in return as a courtesy, raising their status at Flickr.

I quit wondering or worrying about anything I see on the internet..............​I don't look at who's looking and liking. I sleep better that way...............I know, it doesn't pertain to your question............

I think OhLook as put a finger on it, your images are beautifully lit, and they are probably trying to emulate the lighting style, and admire your work.

As long as they aren't stealing/reposting your images, I wouldn't worry about it.

This is kind of amazing to me.

You post your pictures on a public, very active photography website and you are complaining about having so many people liking your work. I am flummoxed.

I'd love to have a bunch of followers and comments on my pictures on Flickr. I have done some pretty nice work in the past that is posted on my Flickr page and you know what? I've have ZERO followers, ZERO comments, ZERO likes......forgive me, friend, but I'd love to be in your 'predicament'.

By the way....I tried to look at your Flickr page and it says you have no public photos. So, how does one see your pictures?

I stopped tracking my Flickr views and faves a long time ago, though. Flickr changed its "views" algorithm so that even scrolling past an image embedded in a forum page counts as a "view," which greatly distorts the numbers compared to their previous algorithm which required that the viewer click through to the Flickr image.

So, out of curiosity, I clicked through to your profile on flickr and I'm not seeing all this activity that you're seeing. Am I missing something?

That is odd because I have all these landscape and wildlife photographers liking my pornography.

Can visitors see who follows someone? All I can seem able to see is whom that someone follows, but not the other way around.
