Photoshop problems

Hello every one i just bough a membership to adobe for lightroom and photoshop. I have it downloaded to
my laptop and desktop. I have been teaching myself photoshop with the photoshop learn and support. The problem is when i try and use the spot healing brush on the desktop instead of content aware on the bar i get two arrows that cross each other and it does not seem to work but on the laptop it seems to be ok. I am on my way to work but will monitor this thread so thanks for any help that you can give.

I tried to replicate that on my computer but wasn't able to get that to occur. If nobody posts an answer, maybe you could post a screenshot so we could see what you have or haven't got selected.

I can select the spot healing brush but the contain aware symbol stay on the tool bar i have a phone snap shot i will see if i can uploaded.

It's a preferences setting.

Go to Preferences > Workspace > Check or Uncheck "Enable Narrow Options Bar" under the "Condensed" field.

You'll have to restart Photoshop for it to take effect.

I'm using the purchased disc version of CS6, but have you tried to select the healing brush until the selections pop out and selecting "healing brush"? I tried what 3Rotor said above. It works as stated and exiting/restarting Photoshop is needed.

I'm using a Mac but I think on PC you will find Preferences in the Edit menu.
