A friend and Iwill be over in Minneapolis at the end of april for a week on business, however we intend totake a day to try and get some bird photography in. We will have limited equipment (100-400mm lens).
Where would people recommend that we go? We want to (try and) get decent photographs, they do not have to be rarities, common US birds are fine!

Thanks in advance

John

John, you might start by searching for "Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge". You should be able to find something of interest there and along the Mississippi River. I have not been there, only passed through in a hurry but usually our National Wildlife Refuges are great places to photograph any of the native wildlife.

And you could try the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area which are a little ways north of Minneapolis. Both are great areas with roads to drive and trails to hike.
