I am sure that some of you'll use Instagram, but may not have an issue that I am having but I figured I would ask anyway.

I have someone that keeps liking my photos. It is just a stupid photo I made of of a Lego Kylo Ren holding a Folgers K-cup and it is captioned... The force is strong with this one.

I did not know it would crop out some of the words but I have still gotten a lot of likes..

The issue is that One person has. Liked, re-liked with other accounts, and commented on it in bad way several times... Lets just say that this person is almost nude in their Instagram Profile, and the comments are sexual in nature...

I am a Christian, studying to be a pastor.. And this woman keeps using different accounts to Like this photo.. I am new to Instagram so All I know what to do is block each time she likes it and remove her comments.

Other than setting the account to private is there anything else I can do??? This is happening every other day.

...you can block the user! if you add hashtag/s, there are those accounts that "auto comment". you'll just have to delete the unwanted comments or/and block the user. i think there is also an option to disable comments.

I made it so comments could not be explicit. The issue with blocking the user is that I have done that. This person has multiple pages that are all the same, just under different names and they keep liking the photo. This time around I sent it to Instagram for review. and showed that there are more than one account with all the same information on it.. IE Links to a explicit website.

I have had various bots target me with spam/porn/likes for sale and comments etc and it is usually a one off thing. Unfortunately this sounds much more like a personal attack on you. I would report each account rather than just blocking or deleting comments. I would also check to see if IG have a "Report Harassment" option as that is pretty clearly what is happening.

You can turn off the ability of someone to comment or even like your photos. It's probably not the ideal setting (because it's enjoyable when people like our photos), but perhaps for a few days it will discourage this person enough to quit.

You can also change your screen name, which will lead them to a screen that says "user not found" when they try to go to your old name.

Sounds like someone who might know you if they are that persistent.

Right now instagram has THE spawning ground for fake/bot accounts. Most people I know are getting 2-10 new followers daily from what are clearly fake or bot accounts.

It's the wild west out there right now, and who knows what these accounts are being created for.

.
I am glad this thread was revived. . Well, "revived" is actually not a very fitting term, as it is only a couple of years old.

Anyway, I believe that there is a way that comments for an image can be disabled.

I was just on Instagram (on my desktop computer) about an hour ago, and wrote a comment on a photo. . Then I clicked on the "POST" button, nothing happened. . I refreshed the page and tried again to post my comment. Same result - the comment didn't post. . So I got on my phone and went to Instagram there, and tried to post the comment. . I got a message saying "comments for this image have been limited" . I didn't say anything lewd or use any words that would be flagged, so I take it to mean that no further comments will be allowed for this one image.

Based on this very recent experience of mine, I would think that you can simply limit, or block, comments for any given image.. But do realize that Instagram still reserves many functions and many parts of the user interface for cell phone use only, so if you want to adjust settings for an image and can't seem to figure out how I suggest that you use your cell phone instead of your desktop to do such things on Instagram.

--------------- --------------- --------------- --------------- ---------------

By the way, folks, I fully realize this thread is a couple of years old, and the OP probably resolved this issue already. . That doesn't really matter to me - I want to get my input out there anyway, regardless of whether the OP still needs the help or not. . I don't just write to help OPs, I write to get info out there for anybody who may ever need it.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

How about the option to make your IG account private? This will protect you from spammers, stalkers and other annoying accounts. It won't work if you are interested in likes and comments from all the people, not just your followers.
