I am new to off camera flash, so I want to learn how to do. I have a Cheetah Light 360 and Wireless Transmitter and 430III-RT. What do I need or do I need a transmitter to trigger that 430 as the slave?

Which 'Wireless transmitter' do you have, exactly?

(Your 430ExIII RT is also a 'wireless transmitter' (radio or light communications) - but it 'speaks' only 'Canon RT'.)

Keeping it simple,
The answer is place a Cheetah Light X 2.4 G Wireless Receiver on the hotshoe
of your 430III-RT. The transmitter sits in the hotshoe of your camera. You will
be able to use the transmitter sitting in the hotshoe of your camera, or your
camera flash menu to control the two flashes.

Hope this helps,

You can also use the Flashpoint trigger from Adorama.
https://www.adorama.com/fprrr2rc.html (external link)

It is the same as Cheetahstand. Both made by Godox in China.

Edit---there are units on Amazon that are the same.

That would not work WITH the Godox/Cheetahstand/Flashpoint. The radios for the Godox/Cheetahstand/Flashpoint are
not the same as the CowboyStudio radio. My suggestion is to stick with the radio in your Cheetah Light 360, and NOT mix things up.
I have been through multiple generations of radio triggers and have somewhat abandoned the older stuff and focused
on the radios in the newer Godox Flashes. I do not miss having to carry multiple spare double A batteries in my bag. Godox has
done a decent job of Xeroxing the Canon wireless system. If you have a newer Canon body, you can have up to 5 groups. On an
older body, you only get 3 groups.

Hope this helps,

110yd

If you want to use your Canon 430, a Godox X1R receiver would be the simple solution. You could pile on a YN-622c but now we are mixing
radios. My suggestion is to stick with the X1-R. Your timing is just a little off in dealing with a last minute purchase.
The Godox/Cheetahstand/Flashpoint solution just plain works....My suggestion is to stick with it, as opposed to band-aiding a work around.

Hope this helps,

Based on your other thread, if you own the Cheetah 360X and only plan to use the 430ex III as a background or hair light, you can buy the Adorama Flashpoint Zoom R2 (or Godox TT600) Manual flash for $69 instead. This flash has a built-in receiver already. It is not TTL so you set the power manually, but the advantage is you use the Godox/Cheetah system and don't need an additional receiver.

Thanks but I don't want to invest in another flash.

Go to Amazon, find the Godox Canon receiver and look for a seller that fulfills via Amazon. That means that the product will come from the Amazon warehouse. Depending on where you're located relative to the warehouse you may get it next day.
