It was hazy tonight, but I wanted to try my new Orion SkyView mount, anyway. But by the time I got set up, long bands of clouds were moving in. The clouds alternated hiding everything and letting the moon and Jupiter peek through, so I tried to get some shots anyway. I managed to get Jupiter during a break, with just a bit of haze making it seem to glow, and one shot where faint bands show up with the moons, too. When I switched to the moon, there were no large breaks, just occasional thin places where the moon would try to break through. That wasn't enough to properly test the Orion mount, though, because it didn't require long exposures, and the clouds had totally obscured Polaris, so I couldn't even check if it was tracking properly. Seems these clouds will never go away! More rain in the forecast, too.
