Instagram -- White Boarder

I've been thinking about posting photos on my Instagram that have a pattern - horizontal image followed by a vertical image, and both types of images would have a white border around it.
It would preserve the aspect ration, and also make it look artsier of a display, rather than having each photo full scale in the thumbnail.

However, I read that adding a white boarder will prevent your photos from being re-gram'd by other Instagram accounts as they prefer full photos with no boarders.

I would like to try to get my photos reposted to get more attention. But, Im not sure if what I read would be true.
If I should keep away from adding the boarders (even though my account would look more artsy) or if I should refrain from doing it if it means my photos can be reposted.

I'm pretty sure that's true. I've never seen a re-gram account that posts border shots.

I've thought about ditching borders for this reason. But every time I try, I end up going back to borders. I just think it looks much better when viewing the profile page.
