if you're cool not using the viewfinder then sure.
Yeah, it would be equivalent to mirrorless, just without EVF.

Yeh, that would be a sight to see, someone holding a 1dx2 along with a 600mm at arms length using the back LCD to track a bird.

Just saying Canon can play the numbers game if they wanted to. I like big cinema cameras and I can not lie

No really...try holding that camera so you can see the LCD. Talk about ergonomics...

Talk about ergonomics... I mean the sensor based focus plus live view signal. The technology is the same. I would prefer OVF anyways, mirrorless don't have that option. Yeh, who needs more that 16k in a computer...famous quotes of the past. Or...who needs full frame...famous quote by Nikon. Or...who needs 36mb...famous quotes by Canon folk when they did not have a high mpix sensor. Right, but if it proves well, then great, more competition and competitors will follow suit. Btw I use live view all the time, but sure call it convoluted because you have a DSLR axe to grind. I use it all the time off a tripod with both my DSLR's and mirrorless cameras. I call it convoluted for those occasions when you are handholding a big lens trying to track a bird or hockey player...that is convoluted any way you look at it. Even you must admit this.

If you're handholding, sure. Monopod or tripod with gimbalhead, I don't see the big deal. Add a screen eye cup if it bothers you so much. Works just the same clunkiness as an extra adapter and supertelephoto. I like big cinema cameras and I can not lie

But no, there is clearly no way one could possibly build or design a cover for the LCD that would allow it to function similar to an EFV. https://www.bhphotovideo.com …8&N=3777857691+3557242289 Ever try those? I have for my 5d2 to keep the glare off the LCD when using the camera on a tripod. You still would need to hold the camera with attached heavy lens away from your body in order to peer through these gadgets. Total fail for handheld fast action photography.
