So since 11 Honda drivers were killed out of 1.3 million vehicles in the USA, this is a 'background level' fatality rate, and nobody should have paid attention to the hullabaloo about any defect in airbags.

Did anyone die from Sony overheating camera? haha

again, why don't you care about Canons overheating? and you care so much about Sony overheating? do you even own one? why does it concern you?

Why don't you go on Canon Overheating crusade?
Why don't you go on Canon crusade when they forgot add a part in 5dIII and was causing light leaks?
Why don't you go on Canon Crusade when they had to replace bunch of Eos Rebels because of sensor defects?
Why don't you go on Canon Crusade when they had defective Mirror boxes in 1dx?
Why don't you go on Nikon crusade about oil leaks?
Why don't you go on Nikon crusade about decentered AF modules?
What about GM inginition problems?
What about Apple Antenna gate issue? Your not holding it right
What about Iphones and Imac burning up, and burning peoples cars and houses?
What about Ford/Firestone rollover issues/exploding tires

Here are few more crudases have fun

Because if I were to recommend the A9 to someone wanting to make a switch from Canon, it is important not to steer them wrongly with misinformation regarding any shortcomings that might be found in the camera. I am not idealizing ANY camera, Canon nor Sony, they all have their limits, and I strive to understand what those limits are, and present the facts. It is then up to the person to decide what foibles are significant disqualifiers for them, and which do not matter.

I, for one, care not about the absence of S-Log in video, somebody else may care very much!

In the case of the Canon 70D, as another example, I know that it seems to have some foibles regarding bounce flash eTTL underexposure, unlike earlier (and successor) models of cameras. So I would identify that to someone considering a used 70D. The 5D had its falling-off mirror. The 20D and 30D had general underexposure of all eTTL exposures. The 50D was inferior in IQ to the 40D. The 350D had failure of the auxiliary mirror mechanism as early as at 25k exposures.

As for vehicle flaws, I make no effort to provide advise to folks about what new or used car to buy, that they depend upon to get them to their jobs in various forms of inclement weather, or to protect them better from crashes. And this is not an automobile forum. As for Nikon, they seem to be doing a good enough job losing market share to Sony, and no one predicted the demise of Canon after Nikon's last launch.

when you recomend someone a Canon, make sure you don't leave anything out either, mention that they forget parts during assembly, make sure you mention they can overheat, make sure their mirror boxes are known to fall apart. be fair, don't leave those details out.

it seems the possibility of a false god has made a few folks touchier than they need be, in a discussion about the revelations of more information and not merely speculations

I don't bow to the 5DIV either.

yeah your 100% Canon and Nikon uses magical pixy dust electronics made from dwarf alloy that heat never affects them.

I shot my Sonys in 100degrees and they gave me heat warning, but never shut down, just because Canon and Nikon lack of putting thermal sensors in their cameras doesn't mean heat doesn't affect them.

You got it all wrong necrosoft.
I much prefer to hear from canon users about how sony works.
Real user reviews are for losers.

Apparently first hand experience isn't necessary to to have a qualified opinion these days now that we have youtube videos.

If you send $4500 on a flagship ship camera, it should not over heat *LOL* It's not an isolated overheating issue. I feel sorry for those experiencing this issue laying out all that cash. Mean while my FZ1000 is not overheating...

Looks like some cleaning up was done around here last night. Hopefully that will be the last of it.

Yeah, right:
https://youtu.be/d15q1MF0aK0 (external link)

I got overheating issues recording video on a 5D2.
For what it matters, even my flagship Apple iPhone 7+ showed an overheating warning and turned itself off after running Google Maps for about 45 minutes in full sun at Anza-Borrego State Park.

Meanwhile, Sony is sending a replacement body to the "Sony overheating" guy, so let's wait for the update before drawing conclusions.

Thanks for sharing. To me that's definitely trying really hard to find a overheating issue. The original 7D obviously does not have DPAF so shooting a bunch if stills in live view for that long is not something 7D owners would normally do.

A camera sitting on a desk, not in sunlight, while recording video and halting multiple times after around a half hour of recording...is not 'trying hard to find a overheating issue' IMHO.
He's not trying hard to create a situation for a 'problem' to manifest, it's simply happening in not-at-all-challenging circumstances!

I replied yesterday to 1cameraguy, asking if he had pointed out to Sony, during his phone call with them, that he had encountered overheating with his A7RII and A6500 (which he mentioned in another YouTube segment), so that a loaner A9 from Sony would do nothing to address a behavior already seen on multiple Sony models! No response back from him yet.
