"Sunglasses" for LCD screen?

Is there a material that comes in sheets with which one can cover the live-view screen to make it usable in sunlight? Ideally, it wouldn't distort colors. After a shot, I can always get the screen into shade, but sometimes the sun is shining on the screen when the camera is where it needs to be while shooting.

A hood of some manner is really the way to go for something like this. Any kind of filter/film that goes over the screen to try and cut down the glare and reflections from sunlight aren't going to stand up to the clarity of a good hood.

Haven't seen one commercially available, but I have seen a few custom jobs modelled after the old pop-out ground glass hoods on press cameras. A solid back cover that swings down to cover the LCD, and then a folding cloth/leather bit that can be tucked in for storage or hang down around it to act as a shade.

I think this is true because even if the LCD itself is properly shaded, our eyes are being bombarded with bright glare from all directions, and it makes it difficult to see the image on the screen in an objective manner, because our pupils are so adjusted to the ambient light, and not to the image on the screen.

A hood ensures that we see the screen objectively, especially if we keep our eyes under the hood for a minute or so. I just use my overshirt and pull it up over my head and camera, then give it a minute for my eyes to adjust. If I don't go to these lengths, I can't trust what I am seeing, no matter how well shaded the LCD itself is.
