Has anyone else who has this strobe (with the R2 transmitter) experienced either of the two phenomena?

1.) If the Evolv is set on a particular mode (TTTl, Manual, Multi) that a speedlite mounted in the pass-thru shoe on top of the R2 will be forced into whatever mode the Evolv is in? This was annoying as I wanted the Evolv to be in manual mode and the shoe mounted flash to be in TTL to add a little fill.

2.) The pass-thru mounted speedlite will be randomly put into HSS or even Second Curtin mode?

I've read through the manual, but can't seem to find a reference to anything relating to the pass-thru shoe. Everything else about the strobe works perfectly, so I'm not sure if it is behaving like it is supposed to or if there is actually something amiss.

Thanks for any experiences anyone has had with this issue.

I had thought about that, but figured a separate thread would be more direct. I may pop my question into that thread as well.

Sounds like more of a question with the Godox R2 system, than the AD200. I fail to see why the AD200 would control the other devices, when the R2 tx/rx are really in control of the lighting system attached to it.

Agreed.

For whatever reason, the R2 isn't acting as a true "pass-thru", but rather syncing whatever the AD200 is set at with the attached speedlite .

The R2 (X1) is not a "pass thru" hot shoe. It treats TTL speedlites in the hot shoe as a Group A Slave. So if you have your Evolv set to Group A then this will be duplicated in the "on camera" Speedlite in the R2 hot shoe. Put your Evolv in a different Group or use a Manual only flash in the R2 hot shoe.
