Morning everyone.
I started having problems with lightroom that was downloaded for my cloud account. It seems that i can bring in a image into the software do all the editing i want then save the image . Now the problem lies when i try to open the next image to edit as i click on the image the screen goes black and it says that lightroom not responding. The only thing that i can do is to open task manger to close lightroom then open it up and do another edit then i have to go though the same thing by shutting down and reopening. This is on my desktop, the laptop works fine. Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Not yet hoping there is another way as we shouldn't have to keep installing the software.

You should not need to 'keep installing' software, but perhaps the program files on the PC got somehow corrupted once.

Check your preferences to see if you have GPU acceleration setting checked. If it's checked, uncheck the box and see if that fixes your issue.

I presume you are using Lightroom CC on subscription. If it is any comfort at all, I have been using Lightroom v1, then v2, then V3, all without any need for re-loading ever. I just upgraded myself to LR5.7 to support the 7DII, thus far (one month) without incident.

I ran into some bizarre problems at one point a few months back. I found my DD id logged off the Adobe site. Logged back in and worked fine. Worth a shot!

I looked for some error logs which may help identify your issue. The link may contain some useful info about log files - https://helpx.adobe.com …g-files-location-ccm.html (external link) I don't know if Adobe writes runtime errors to the logs or only during the initial install; worth a look.

Re: my comment above about logging into CC. The issue maybe related to syncing with your cloud account, but I'm only guessing.

I just reinstalled lightroom and when i went into preferences it did the same thing as before it froze up so i am back at square one. But on a happy note i can get into preferences on my laptop but it is running good with the gpu box checked. I guess i should leave well enough alone on the laptop.
