Going by what I've seen on the thread, people seem to be quite satisfied with this camera's performance.

Just how quick/accurate is the autofocus? Is anyone on this thread able to compare the 77D to the 70D in terms of autofocus?

Also, how's the battery life in practice (compared to the 70D, 6D, or T2i)?

Autofocus is on par with the 80D and is reported to be faster than all other EOS DSLR. I have the 7D and I have noticed the focus locks on to birds and planes faster with my 77D.

I am keeping track of how long the battery last between charges. Here is my result:

Original battery
Start: 3871
End: 4544 (May 7)

4544 - 3871 = 673 (lots of videos)

2nd battery
Start: 4545
End: 5572 (May 20)

5572 - 4545 = 1027 (few videos)

Original Battery
Start: 5573
End: 6782 (May 31)

6782 - 5573 = 1209 (few videos)

2nd battery
Start: 6783
End: 7704 (Jun 13)

7704 - 6783 = 921 (many videos)

These are file numbers which I assume are close to actuations.

I decided to use a telephoto lens instead of a wide angle lens for a section of the landscape at a local golf course. Here is a simple image of grass covered with dew drops lit by low sunlight.

Hi,
finally I bought this brand new camera: EOS 77D. Just today I spent some hours with her near Rome in Tivoli, at Villa d'Este I did some shots that you can see entirely here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/francesco_dini/5nNE71 (external link)

One great thing about the Canon 77D is the ability to handle a wide dynamic range. There are very bright areas and dark areas in this photo that were dealt with satisfactorily.

Big positives about the EOS 77D: very fast auto focus, handles dynamic range better that all EOS cameras built before 2016, image quality.

I agree, I am appreciating the wide dynamic range of this camera

Two new additions to the family, my boy Theo and the Canon 77D.

I have not had a good play yet but these were shot today. Build quality is a little average but the image quality and focus system are great!

These are straight from the camera no PP.
