Any perennials that usually pop up during spring in your garden that you haven't seen yet?
I bought this house in December, and even though Spring comes quite early in Houston, there were mainly (what I before thought) were weeds in the garden. I have not had the chance to see previous springs as of yet. Turns out they are not weeds at all. After some intense research I found out these are called Crosnes. They are an edible tuber that mainly grows in Japan and China. They are quite rare apparently. You cook them and their texture is similar to water chestnuts. They are similar to Jerusalem artichokes. I thought they were all weeds so i pulled up the plants. These are not something I would be interested in cooking or selling though, so I don't care that I destroyed all of them.
