I was just curious if anyone has used this bag and figured a way to use a full sized tripod. I'm thinking the flap on the bottom with the adjustable straps should open enough to pin it in there. Not the best solution but a workable one. Has anyone come up with something different?

Also curious if anyone knows if a plano tackle box would fit into the open compartment area. If you don't know what I'm referring to it, it would be like trying to fit a 13" laptop(for the large boxes) or about 2 standard iPads stacked up(for the small boxes). Ideally I'd like to fit 2 or 3 small boxes max. A small and big would be perfect.

B&H has this on sale for $70 from $120 and thinking it might fill my camera bag/ tackle box need. I'm currently using 2 bags and for the $70 price tag would be worth combining. Mostly used for hiking to remote fishing ponds or creeks in the mountains. I like to film my fishing trips hence the need for the tripod.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I've played with numerous methods of attaching a tripod to mine and the best method I've found so far is sliding two of the three legs into the water bottle holder and using a strap to tie the top to the hand strap.
I got the idea from this review video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-mMrpa_NGM (external link)

Because of my concern for blowing out the mesh pocket, I rarely carry a full size tripod with that pack. I also prefer having a water bottle in that pocket.

For a tackle box, are you talking about about utility boxes? In my fastpack 250 I was able to fit a plano 3500 and 3600 utility box in the laptop compartment with my bag fully loaded. 3500 boxes fix perfectly in the top compartment. I also put a 3700 box in the laptop compartment just to test and still had room at the top for a small box.
