Just wondering what you prefer and if you use 1 big bag do you have any recommendations?

I have 2 Flashpoint AD360ii and a couple of flashes. No strobes. I could probably fit all that with my camera and lenses in a single big bag.

Edit...sorry wrong subforum. Mods please move.

I travel as light/compact as possible for each outing so if it all fits in one bag that's great. I go to two, or one bigger case, if necessary. If I'm taking light stands it is always at least two cases.

I've learned pretty early on that, at least for me, a big bag for everything just isn't practical. Not only that the bag will ultimately grow to unwieldy proportions, but also that it is easier to have one main bag that has most of the items you always seem to have with you. And then one or two additional bags with items you don't always need, but use for more specific purposes.

I go separate bags.

If your camera bag fits two AD360s and all it takes to keep them powered, then you must have a very large empty bag when you aren't bringing them!

Plus IMHO it gets confusing digging in one bag for flash accessorizes and having to push memory cards and lenses out of the way.

There are kits that are one bag, certainly. I just cant see a convenient one bag kit that includes a pair of AD360. :)

For lighting in particular, I also really like to have that kit always packed and essentially ready to go, it is also storage. So it needs it's own bag. then it's a matter of which or how many bags I need to take ,. not always repacking with different stuff.

I have separate bags/cases for camera kit, lighting kit and stands/grip. The first two are rather fragile and I don't want to get to the location only to find that something was damaged. I also don't buy cheap bags, Lightware and Tenba have proven themselves over thousands of miles whether on the road or in the air.

Depends on the lights. Depends on your needs. Depends on your bag!

With my speedlites, I just toss them in my backpack with the cameras and stuff. The goal there being portable and light weight kit. I fit 3~4 speedlites and a camera and two lenses pretty easily into my backpack, and it's not a huge one (Lowepro Flipside 400 AW).

When I'm taking out my strobe(s) they show up in a separate bag than my camera kit, and its a hard case.

Very best,
