I placed a order for 2 lexar cards uhs-2 that is 2000x 64gb and 1000x 64gb for my Xt2. Does it matter if I'm running two different card speeds or should I return my 1000x for a 2000x? or switch to Sandisk uhs-2 cards?
Since I was told that running two different card speeds will make the xt2 run on the slower speed.

I don't know the answer to your question but would assume that if you are writing to both cards at the same time the system would be limited by the speed of the slower card. Whereas if shooting to one card until it is full and then switching to the second the speed would be governed by only the particular card currently being written to.

I would also be interested in knowing what would happen if you wrote RAW to a fast card and JPEG to a slower one. I assume the smaller JPEG files would mean that the speed difference because less noticeable.

You will be fine, put the faster card in slot 1. Enjoy your camera!

I'd throw the 1000x in the bin, those cards are no way fast for a UHS-II. Spend the extra on the 2000x.
If you need to be clearing the buffer a lot that is. If you are just shooting slowly then you won't see the difference.

Lexar 1000x:
The read speed is ~150Mb/s so nice when you plug it into a UHS-II card reader
The write speed is a claimed 75Mb/s this is the speed you need to know about when you are clearing the buffer, the important one for the camera. Not so hot.

The 2000x will give you a write speed or ~260Mb/s

What you think is the better card? 2000x or Sandisk extreme pro 300?

I'd be biased towards Sandisk have found them very good, but whatever works for you I wouldn't worry about it to much, the 2000x cards are great but only if you are using HC a lot or shooting a high bitrate 4K [I think the X-T2 is 105Mb/s]

I see. Well, I have the storage hdds to store all the photos. I just don't want my camera to lock up while I'm shooting or when I'm doing a playback.

I've been running the 1000x cards in my X-PRO2 for the last six months or so, they work OK but the 2000x are much better & you do notice the speed of the buffer clearing being faster.

Hardly ever, but sometimes it's nice to know you can if you want to shoot of two or so seconds and not have to wait for the camera to speed back up

I agree. It's not my main focus to burst the 8 fps. But, when I want to, I do not want it to take time.
