Anyone tried extracting ink from an OEM cartridge for any reason?

Hi, I use a CISS on my Epson and from what I have read it seems nothing can really beat OEM ink for quaility in printing, due to the high cost of OEM ink I have been searching for not to far out of date ink carts or cheaper in date that people no longer maybe have the printer for. Anyway my question is has anyone tried extracting ink from an OEM cartridge for any reason? there is a guy in the USA that has a plastic tip that you fit to the end of a syringe but at $22 including P&P far to expensiveto ship to Europe. Any ideas/help please?

I've never seen or heard of anyone doing that.

Years ago, there were kits that would allow you to refill factory cartridges with third part ink.

The last time i bothered to notice, the OffixMax chain in the U.S. refilled ink cartridge, but I don't waste my time.

I don't even use third party cartridges in my Canon iP8700. I tried generic ink cartridges from the now defunct Ink Stop chain and they didn't even fit properly in my Canon S-750.

I use to refill my inkjet a decade ago and you basically drilled a small hole in the cartridge filled the syringe from a bottle , injected that ink in the old cartridge then plugged the hole with a little nipple looking plug. It worked well as long as you used quality ink and the cartridge wasn't bad the nozzles would clog from time to time
