I feel like I'm about to open a can of worms but I'm going to ask, what do you like to use - photoshop or Lightroom?

I use to use photoshop cs4 when I was editing photos but being out of the photography game for a while I was wondering what people like to use these days. I see lots of great work coming out of Lightroom and it looks a little bit condensed compared to photoshop.

for me it depends what I want to do with an image. Basic adjustments I do in lightroom. More advanced editing/fixing I do in Photoshop then save back to Lightroom.
I don't see any difference in the exports TBH.

This^

LR is the starting point, PSE is the fixer. I try not to have to go back to LR after PSE, but occasionally I do.

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.

Yup, both (well not LR but one of it's competitors). They are different tools for different uses.

Like anything else, it depends. In the past I primarily used LR with occasional trips to PS for things such as portrait retouching. Over time I grew tired of the global sharpening tools in LR, so now my workflow is almost always LR>PS>LR if only to achieve the sharpening results I want.

Photoshop now days.

Everything is there in front of you ... no modules to go through.

Workspace and keyboard shortcuts customizable to your liking.

... and don't forget actions, what a time saver.

Used LR when shooting sports for paper.
It was the quickest way to get a bunch of photos ready before deadline.

No longer shoot sports and the rush to beat deadlines, so it's PS for me.

Both, primarily Lightroom.

Photoshop for retouching that I can't do in Lightroom, such as heavy cloning or adding graphics and text. But I can do a LOT of retouching in Lightroom.

Photoshop Actions can be a time saver. In Lightroom, syncing develop settings between a huge batch of photos is also a time-saver.

I've been a firm believer in Lightroom since v3. Now using v6.1. I have PSE 12, but rarely use it. DPP4 seems particularly good with 80D raw files.

If this is to me, I don't use CC. I bought the stand-alone upgrade from v5.7. $79 one time vs. $10/month forever was a no-brainer to me.

I've had creative cloud for a while now. 2 yrs maybe? Has been seamless and awesome. Always get new versions and features as updates.

I find that Lightroom does the job for me for 99.9% of my photos. I don't really do a lot of things like layers, merging different shots and backgrounds, etc, which is where Lightroom comes up short and PS shines.

And it is a lot easier to learn to use.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

You should be able to go to the Adobe site, download the software and check you licenses for your key.
