Rail / pantograph advice?

This was in the Tripod / support section, but may be better here (I hope);

I don’t have a dedicated studio area as such & I’m finding the process of setting up flash kit every time I’m working a time consuming event that’s getting in the way of getting on with photography (all product photography). As such I’m considering getting a studio rail pantograph system for the same area so that I can have everything set up / ready to go or folded up / out of the way as required, but have some pantograph questions;

I see that there are various weights & balancing arms available for pantographs – I’m assuming that if the centre of gravity of the flash unit isn’t in line with (or close to) the spigot that the weight of the flash is going to angle the pantograph away from the vertical?(The flashes that I’m using are Elinchrom’s with softboxes , weight is just under 2Kg & the centre of gravity is pretty far forward of the spigot)

The flashes are fan cooled & if at all possible I would prefer to have them mounted the correct way up. Is there any type of cranked (C shaped I suppose) spigot adapter or yoke readily available that can be used to achieve this?

Images are generally taken of batches of similar products at a time, so once I’m set-up the flashes generally won’t move significantly during a shooting session, so I don’t really need the quick & easy adjustability of pantographs, but I do need to be able to put the flash units up / down. Is there any sort of realistic alternative to pantographs (I’m thinking something along the lines of an upside down flash stand pole)?

Any other rail / pantograph pointers / info also appreciated.

Thanks.

Have also look at this thread: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=18202750

Don't worry about balance aslong keep the flash perpendicular under the pantograph.

Ok, that clarifies that I don't need to concern myself so much with pantographs leaning.

Does anyone know if brackets or yoke's are available to allow flash units to be mounted the correct way up on pantographs?

Thanks.
