I am about to purchase a 2nd iMac that will be used for photoshop, lightroom and some Final Cut Pro. It's a 2012 i5 Quad Core, 16gb Ram (I'll upgrade to 32) and a 1TB Fusion drive.
My concern is with the video specs, it has:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M graphics processor with 512MB memory
Even my MacBook Pro and MacBook Air have 1536mb of memory on the video card. So, I've never used an Apple computer with only 512mb of video memory, and don't really know if this is an issue.
I don't play any games at all and, in addition to the above apps, only use standard things like Word, Excel, Safari...nothing too intense. None of the apps that I run require more memory than 512mb, but all recommend more.
Can anyone tell me if this will serve my needs well, or should I be concerned about the video memory?
