The Osprey are busy on the Waccamaw River near home. It was nice to get out for a couple of hours on Saturday and see what they're up to. Some nests had chicks but they're still very small and not coming up high enough to get a decent shot. Many of the nests are high up and that makes thing even more challenging. I hope to get out again in the next two weeks

You got really good light on them for them being up in the trees. I'm jealous :p

Very nice! We have a place in North Myrtle that we get to a few times a year. I've spent a lot of time at Huntington Beach State Park. Are there any other places in the area that you would recommend?

For the most part they were in the open. I had a few throw away sets due to too much shade/shadows.

Thanks Jack. Huntington is my stomping grounds, has been for almost 40 years. I have some luck at Brookgreen Gardens across from the park, sometimes in the gardens and sometimes outside the garden walls. The rice fields at the back and the road that runs down from the tour boat dock. In the spring you can book a river tour for Osprey on the Waccamaw River, I'm hoping to get back out again in the next two weeks.

Thanks Bob, wish I could see them every time out. Hate that I got sick and missed my chance to get down to Florida in late April.
