Here is my beloved Canon 5D classic. I've thought about selling it before but couldn't bring myself to do it (I still miss my 70-300 L). But the fact is I'm no longer doing portraits. My love lies in wildlife, nature and birds in flight. Instead of letting this sit in my dry cabinet for years on end I'm going to let it go so someone else can love and enjoy it.
For the short time I've had it, I have added some accessories that will be included in the sale as a package.
The package (sale includes):
-Canon 5D body, first original 'classic' version.
I purchased this in June 2015 from a user on this forum. Here is a link to the sale post:

It has worked flawlessly for me and even got me a local magazine cover photo.
I probably put around 3,000 photos on it during my ownership. Total shots so far to date on the new shutter are probably well below 10,000.
I want to note that I bought this with a sticker over the existing serial number location. This sticker has the new serial number. I was concerned about this myself and emailed Canon with a photo of what it looked like. They told me this is a procedure they do. There is also a corresponding sticker on the box with matching numbers, it is larger and has a barcode as part of it. Here is a pdf of the email conversation I had with Canon - https://www.dropbox.com …on%205D%20serial.pdf?dl=0![]()
In my opinion, this presents as a fantastic cosmetic condition. In summary, the hot shoe and bottom show noticeable wear.
Marks on the body are as follows. Shutter side strap anchor has some abrasions below it. There is a small chip in the black paint below the front main grip and a few more small chips near it on the underside next to the battery door.
All the metal of the battery door and compartment look very clean, shiny and highly reflective.
The underside where the serial label is has a thin long cut mark that resembles what a box cutter would do. It is not very deep but noticeable. There are some round indentations around the tripod mount. The label is in decent condition showing some light wear and tear along 3 edges.
The hot shoe has some brassing on the edges but still maintains a nice satin black sheen. The flash contacts look very clean, still with a machined look.
All of the lettering on the body is intact and in very good condition.
The leather grips are in great condition. They are worn a bit, I would say it is noticeable if you look closely. There are no discoloration or white marks commonly associated with the grips.
I don't see a single blemish on the rear LCD screen. The top LCD looks amazing but not as perfect when compared to the rear LCD.
I use it with a SanDisk Extreme PRO 16gb CF card, 160 MB/s, UDMA 7 with no problems, this card is not included.
The original eye cup is included.
I have the box. It looks good with typical wear marks all over. Nothing bad except 2 of the bottom corners are wrinkled/pushed in a little.
Inside the box there are both instruction manuals (the English showing a little bit of wear compared to the near perfect Spanish). 3 cardboard pieces (1 main, 2 supports) and 1 foam. Both pocket guides in great condition. Bubble wrap in excellent condition. A bunch of papers and guides all in excellent condition. Usb cable, appears used. Video cable, appears unused. A un-altered warranty card with the same serial number as shown on the sticker on the body. Both CDs that appear to not have been opened.
Plus the CPS repair paper which will be included and in the photos.
-Original Canon charger and Canon battery
-Hoodman eye cup (purchased June 2016) which still looks new. I found this much better than the standard eye cup for viewing in bright light. It an be rotated 360 degrees.

-Really Right Stuff L-plate (short style without grip). Model number: B5D-L. This L-plate features a metal pin to that locks into the body for absolutely no rotation. Not all RRS plates have this pin. It has a few marks on the bottom. I think you will be very pleased with its condition. Purchased from Keh, EX grade on 6-19-15. Receipt goes along with purchase. Comes with a new allen wrench from my Hejnar Photo purchases.
-Minolta Angle finder in mint condition with case. After hearing about issues with the Canon angle finder I found this one which fits great and offers 1x and 2x magnification. The rubber eyepiece has a bend from being in it's case for so long but I don't find any loss of functionality.
-Canon Ee-S Super Precision Focusing Screen "the Ee-S Super Precision focusing screen is designed to facilitate manual focusing with high-speed lenses (f/2.8 or faster). The Ee-S screen has finer microlenses than the Ee-A or Ee-D options, along with a steeper parabola of focus to make the image pop in and out of focus more vividly in the viewfinder; however, the Ee-S focusing screen is not recommended for slower lenses because it's not very bright."
-Nikon split circle focusing screen. FA-FE2 Type K2. This fits great if you need to do manual focusing utilizing a split screen. This was very hard to find and in great condition. I found that it only slightly alters exposure, easily compensated for in post.
