Hello all,
Yes, I did a search but could not find a method or software tool to find out the exact shutter count on my 6D.
Does anyone know how to do this, and what software tool might work?

There are 3rd party tools to do that. However since I have magic lantern installed on mine, that gives me the shutter count.

My name is James ~ Gear

Tom,
Do you have a link to that service? I am not finding anything that has that name and is a paid service.
I did find several tools where you upload a photo but they come up blank, not working on 6D.

Doesn't work with my 6D. Nothing works with my 80D.

Are you on a Mac? I can only speak for the Windows program.
The steps on Windows are:
- download the folder from his Google Drive, you'll get a .zip file containing 4 files
- unzip and run the .exe file
- a small program window appears with empty info boxes
- plug the USB cable into the camera and turn the camera on (or half-press the shutter button if it was on sleep)
- the info appears in those info boxes

Win7. Program runs. Does nothing.

Tested with 3 6D cameras and worked every time.

I checked my 6D shutter count last week. Some of the free downloads seemed a bit dodgy to me. One of them wanted to install some custom USB drivers on my PC..... I ditched that one. I finally settled on a Astro Photo app and that worked. I downloaded the demo version and eventually found my shutter count.... it wasn't that intuitive but I got there in the end. https://www.ideiki.com/astro/Download.aspx (external link)
