What caused the audio to be slightly off with the video?

if it's separate, then improper alignment. You can clap at the beginning of the clip and edit out in post. You'll see a spike with the in body audio and the external audio. Line them up, then delete/mute in body audio.

sounds good Gene. Didn't you have to do audio editing? Also with that, you don't need to sync right? it will turn off the camera's built-in mic?

Whenever you plug an external mic into the camera, it mutes the internal one. The receiving Sony unit plugs into the external mic port of the camera. I didn't do any editing other than add my "Lower Thirds" to the beginning and render out as an mp4 to upload to Youtube. No audio editing at all that I can recall anyway.

Hmmm...I haven't noticed any sync issue with that video. For your information, I edited it using Vegas Pro 13 I believe (I now have version 14). I don't recall ever having any audio sync issues with audio recorded along with the video file, whether it be by an internal or external mic. Maybe my lips are just lazy. Am I the only one that thinks the audio is in sync?

off topic if you don't mind.

My son is 16yo, a sophomore. I have no problem with the US Army but I really prefer him to go to either the Air Force or the Navy.

At school the Army are talking to the kids including my son without our knowledge. Even if the curious kids will come to them they should not talk to the kids unless permitted by the parents.

Today my son just texted me from school asking permission to join today's Army's physical training. yes without our knowledge. Can they do that?

I talked to the local Air Force Recruitment office a few minutes ago. They said kids can't even join any physical training until they're 17 but sometimes the Army bends rules.

Sorry for my late reply.

#1 I think we are enough friends here that off topic things like this are A-OK in my book

#2 Are they recruiting for the college ROTC type route?

#3 I have several friends that have spent careers in the Army. I think that knowing them has moved the army up in my list of outfits so sorta Air Force and Army less others. If your kid is smart and goal oriented he may go farther in the army than in the AF.

#4 I think it is a high calling to defend this nation no mater the politics the desire to me is admirable. I also think in this day and age if you get college taken care of and a job straight out it is a commitment but 4 years out of college He will be able to transition well.

Personally it is young to start committing but I think you can work through that. Good luck!!! And thanks for sharing

Yep, bored and time-shifting (and playing with sigs :)
I spose it's a good thing bringing back thousands of files---for times when I have nothing better to do.
Plus, like Gene I like tinkering in the processing as much as the taking.

It's good for me too to to back and reflect. I'd forgotten 5 days on a zodiac hunting the tooth-walkers...constant fear of something
going way wrong in those deadly cold waters.

So, too much open space to the right in this pic?

Maybe not .... I think the ocean adds to the scale and grandeur..... maybe cropped top to bottom too much???

Thanks for the update Travis. Odd that the audio is OOS when viewed through your phone.

Any tips on using the clone stamp tool? Trying to remove a shadow from my tripod on a shot and it’s been frustrating. When I sample an area, the tones come out darker on the area I’m stamping over.
