That's not good
Google Conibear. I use them. My big one will snap the neck of a German Shepherd.

I'll post the ambient and then the final flash/ambient mix. I think the flambient (yep that's what the RE guys call it) looks pretty crisp. To me it looks a bit flashy still even though I mixed in some of the ambient. The positive is no color casts to deal with. Let me know what you think? Flambient mix with a window pull (really like this for clean window masks). You basically flash the windows (no that kind of flash you perv . Then you change the mode on that layer to darken. Simple and effective without any luminosity masking.IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/26s8FoC - Alfredo -

Thank you Vinz. Yep I have been watching his videos and also Nathan Cool. This was my first attempt and will continue to practice. I only have one Godox speedlight. I think the evolv 200 would be a nice addition. Not sure about using a strobe just yet in the field. I will continue to bracket and blend my shots as I am comfortable doing that but this flambient technique is good to learn. - Alfredo -

This was just a test to compare ambient with flash/ambient. I didn't do much editing to the ambient but I agree with your adjustment recommendations. I don't plan to do real estate. This was to prepare for an upcoming shoot at a hotel on a military base. The client said the rooms were very dark so I wanted to have some options. mystik610 wrote in post #18613144 The first shot has a more pleasing aesthetic, but if it's a real estate shot and the intention is to highlight the room, the windows become a distraction as your eyes are pulled towards the brightest part of the frame. The light from those windows really dominate that first photo and it's all I see. Second shot seems to focus more attention on the room itself. Thanks Carlo. Agree that the overblown windows draw the eye in. I also prefer the natural shot but see the benefit of using flash too. I should take some brackets and process it using my normal workflow to compare. It may be a good balance between the ambient shot and the flash shot. - Alfredo -
