Thanks David, that transition of light was a key element of the scene for me, glad you dig it. Water flow exposure preference is always a very personal thing...I like the smoothness of it, but like to keep a little texture in certain areas, like the outfall in the foreground, that gives that little sense of motion. I typically shoot several different duration, and then pick the one I like the most in post...

Thanks Alfredo. I have never thought of that concept, interesting. I will have to look into that.

No problem. Here is the video from Dave. I’ve really enjoyed his journal series.

Thanks!!! I was just going to try that as I own the 77mm version.

I really am trying to develop a process.

Oopa loompa orange skin tones is not flattering. I also seem to get pale skin tones at times too. ...... work in process....

Sometimes it works with adding saturation in the HSL panel, then getting the hue you want, then returning the saturation to normal.

I think there's a bit of learned colors as well. I recall setting up a print job to catch up on my canon photos, and I looked at processed images.... not completely happy with the skin tones that I would rework them....

Anyhow, quick edit on C1 with all else equal, only the "Color editor" section done, which is equivalent to the HSL panel. adjusted skin tone to liking in that custom editor, and then slight hue adjustment to the red channel. It's doable in the HSL panel, I just find the grouped controls of C1 much better and quicker to adjust. Lightness and saturation are both there once I adjust hue, and it's just super fast to fine tune to whatever my eye prefers. I'de usually increase exposure just a tad more, but here's a sample to show the subtle changes in skin tones are doable.

yep, using square filters, vignetting isn't really an issue, especially with only 4 stops of ND and the CPL which adds about 1 to 1.5 stops if that.

And the shadows are intentional, I want there to be the darker areas, to bring the feeling of being down in the valley into the image, those areas were dark, I wanted the graduation of light like it is...with the shadows lifted too much, it lost the depth and contrast.

depth is perfect. Love the way the light is coming in through the green at the far end

thanks! Processing that end was harder in C1...it wouldhave been easier in LR...but LR won't run for more than a few minutes...if a person has never seen these trees in Spring...they might think I went overboard on the green...they are a very vibrant green in person.

First is wonderful and could have been taken less than 1/2 kilometer from my house.

Thanks all. That was a few weeks ago. My first proper misty morning forest walk!! LOVED it!! #3 & #4 were from an afternoon walk. That forest is less than 30 minutes drive. If you park to the west in the local village it's about 1/4 mile to the forest. If you park in the country a little to the east you have an uphill climb over a hill & it's about 2 miles to the start of the forest area. The latter is also a sunrise view though ;)

Haha...cute face Eddie. Your son is getting big! Mine is turning 5 in June.

A few of favorites from a Medical Center architecture shoot. Client loved the final images. Most were shot with the FE 16-35GM.
