That's Fort Point under the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was built just before the Civil War to protect the entrance to San Francisco Bay. The GG Bridge was built over the top of the Fort.

I was nowhere close ha! But I've been there too, but long ago and forgotten.....the mind is a terrible thing to age.

They are....its a nice hike in the summer but especially awesome in the fall around October :)

Its funny - the camera gear is going to weigh what it does, so everything else must be as light as possible. Thus ZPacks Hexamid solo plus tent, Western Mountaineering 10 degree bag, Zpacks Arc Haul etc etc. I have this dream of someday hiring some "Home Depot Sherpas" to carry a convection oven up there and make fresh baked cookies :)

A sunrise from the area:

Anyway you see why I am willing to haul a bunch of lenses up there. Once you've seen it, you can't stay away.

Well if it is similar to the A7R2 there are two setting
the number being reset could be because numbering is set to RESET and should be changed to SERIES
The "_" being introduces is due to changing sRGB to Adobe 1998 this is a setting which i believe doesn't affect RAWs and I chose sRGB to prevent image count wrapping at 9999 because without that _ it will wrap at 99999

Haven't got the camera to hand so can't be more specific on which setting anyway it will be in a different place probably on the R3

You are correct on the underscore "_" marking denotes camera is in Adobe colorspace

Looks like the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 has some distortion and vignetting at 28mm

i figured out a new style of shooting now in terms of exposure

Speaking with a portrait in mind but could be applicable to any situation.

Aperture Priority(+2/3EV) and control the shutterspeed using ISO.

i learned from that landscape guy(Dave Morrow). Have you remember how he controls his shutterspeed using ISO?

I will add +2/3EV since i noticed that the zero mark is a bit under. if you notice, the histogram is about right. Multi Metering. DRO(Off)

I sound like so newbie lol. learning is never ending.

Nice use of the excellent Loxia sunstars Robert. I love the Loxia 21, never thought that I would find a smaller alternative to the Zeiss Distagon 21 but the Loxia betters it in every way, it's a fantastic lanscape lens.

forgive me for asking...but why in the world would you want to control exposure with ISO...I would never want to control it with ISO, I would much rather be at my ideal ISO for the scene...

I think it's just a really old way of doing things. I remember the days where there was no Autoiso, and that's how it was done. If you shot aperture priority, you'de have to raise or lower ISO to make it work (hand held shooting).

because i'm in aperture priority and i have no control over the shutterspeed.

and i want enough shutterspeed to freeze the subject or help with my shaky hands. of course if there's plenty of light the ISO will stay at the lowest.

that's on natural light. different case if i use strobe but still i like less than 50% flash contribution on my strobe(except if the background is too bright) to avoid having a flashy look so i might still need the ISO if needed.

review Dave Morrow's video, he wanted his shutterspeed to be at 1/15sec so he raised the ISO

and for the most part on my normal portrait session around the golden hour, maybe the max ISO will be ISO400 to get a decent shutterspeed, which is nothing on this camera.
