The lack of a 35/2 or 35/1.8, that does bother me!...

Sony backlash should be huge on this, it's appalling.

for now, I've got the SY 35 f1.4 on the way, possibly my first lens this year? not bad in terms of GAS :-P

Cant find any stock of the 28-75, way too soon, so I'll just wait it out. 1:3 and 1:4 magnification is pretty darn nice, definitely would not feel the need to bring a macro anywhere.

having the 28/50 combo, I love many times, but sometimes I'm feeling 35/85, and I dont have that. FE 35 f2.8, doesnt count since it almost always goes solo. It's a shame that I cant get a full native CV 35 f1.7 ultron + pcx filter, just a super lens at a sensible size.

the other missing gap, the 135 f2 is pretty much solved by sigma, so props to them for giving me a workaround. In the end, it feels good closing in on the sony system, nearly all native is a good feeling, I can focus on drones next

Yeah the lack of a 35 F2, which is such a staple lens, is really odd.

The lack of a fast 135 is odd too. Fortunately like you said, the Sigma is basically a native lens now

a 35 f/2 just doesn't slot in well between the f/2.8 and the f/1.4...especially when the f/1.4 is so good...

I want it more for the size. The 35 1.4 is awesome. Just big, and 35mm is such a nice focal length to take out with the family.

I miss my rx1rII!

Hi all.

Does anyone use the 35mm f1.4 zeiss sony lens?

If so, how i the QC nowadays? It was known to have bad QC being the images are deCentered?

How can i test for decentered issues on this lens as i am thinking of grabbing one from amazon and just return it if its a dud

It's a staple lens for me. I've had two copies, and neither have any centering issues as far as I can tell. The rendering of the Sony is something special. Very nice bokeh, which is rare for a 35.

If Sony made a decent native 35mm f/1.8 or f/2 I definitely wouldn't be getting the Sigma 35mm Art.

the f/2.8 is small, sure it gives up a little on speed, but is that really that much loss...

I really can't see them introducing a third 35mm...the Sigma Art is nice, but I would rather have the FE35 ZA...similar in size, and that FE rendering is just something special...

Gene, did you own the Phantom 4 Pro? There are quite a few variations. The Phantom 4 Obsidian looks great in the gun metal color. From my research it’s prettty much the same as the Pro. Then there is the newer Phantom 4 Pro version 2. It has quieter propellers and motors but that’s really the only difference aside from using different comm link from the controller. Anyone here have the Obsidian model?

I would wonder about how much harder it is to see if its black?

Actually from what I’ve read, it’s easier to see in the sky than the white version.

really...wow...a friend has the white one, and I have no trouble seeing it...my two cheap drones are both black and I can't see them for crap...but i have terrible eyes! I just had to adjust the diopter on both cameras to help compensate for my failing eyesight...

both are hard to see when your flying long distance flights in mexico :)

I have the P3P and Mavic Air. Fun things they are. Waiting for one last purchase. Hoping the MP2 has the 1" sensor.

Maybe they would discontinue the f/2.8 for a faster version that roughly the same size.

I been using my Canon 35mm f/2 IS and it works so well that I even question myself as to why I want the Sigma.

My eye sight is also getting worse. Getting old.

Haha! Many people are waiting for the Mavic Pro 2 with the 1” sensor. It would be perfect for me. DJI isn’t selling the Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian anymore but you can still get it from Amazon and B&H. I may wait to see what happens after this summer.

Want to say big thank you to mystick610 and Talley. Bought the a7riii and a sony 85 1.8. This camera takes some razor sharp photographs! Like whoaaa. That little cheap $548.00 lens is nasty sharp crisp. I was worried about colors. Color is good at least for me it is. Weight I did not buy a sony for weight. I'm more then strong enough to hold the camera. It is lightweight I can shoot one handed. Instead of me chasing down the focus I can recompose and photograph. Ill be sharing photos pretty soon. Once again thank you. I been with Canon since 1994. Sony is no slacker and boy people are not lying. I was told 4 years ago sony is the best by an old man. I looked at him like he is crazy. No he was not crazy he is correct.
