Gene, did you own the Phantom 4 Pro? There are quite a few variations. The Phantom 4 Obsidian looks great in the gun metal color. From my research it’s prettty much the same as the Pro. Then there is the newer Phantom 4 Pro version 2. It has quieter propellers and motors but that’s really the only difference aside from using different comm link from the controller. Anyone here have the Obsidian model?

I had the Phantom 4. At the time I bought it, the Pro version hadn't been released yet. The biggest issue I had was how finicky it was to update the firmware and that there seemed to be a need to constantly update it. If I ever get another drone, I think I'll stick to whatever works and forgo updating firmware.

a 35 f/2 just doesn't slot in well between the f/2.8 and the f/1.4...especially when the f/1.4 is so good...

A gear slut like me needs proper variety.

35 f2 coming in at 200-300g is another class of lens. Model it like the 85 and I'm golden.

btw, I have what I consider 5 classes of lens sizes.

35 f2.8 = micro
18 f2.8, 25 f2, 28 f2, 50 1.8, 55 1.8, 85 f1.8 = small. Hopefully the 35 f2 falls in this category.
35 f1.4, 12-24, 16-35 either variety, tamron 28-75 = medium. 35 1.4 is at the very edge of this category.
24-70 f2.8, sigma anything f1.4 probably makes it here, 70-300g = large.
70-200+ long telephoto category.

reason for this rating system depends on holsters made for them. Lowepro and Think tank make bags/holsters that cater to certain size categories.

Couldn't agree more. I think the EX line was trying to match the rendering of the 50/85 f/1.2 lenses which is why they were more focused on the bokeh but still had really good sharpness. The Sigmalux is still one of my all time favorites, I feel more sad about selling that one than I do my 85mm.

More or less waiting on the money to come in on my GX8 and other things i got rid of.. I still find myself really wanting the 90mm Macro (I do a lot of macro shooting outside of my pets and the A7III's screen and such would be very nice for that) and seriously considering it over it.. I know its a great lens too but eugh.. its just such a tough decision and feels odd having so many lenses at the same focal length

LOL im quoting myself.

I turned down an amazing rental on the GFX50 and 23 f4 ($350) for my whole trip.

I am having Sony send me a eval copy of the 7r3. (need some quick set up for landscape)

I might be heading to Alaska in July and thought that might be better for the GFX depending on the weather.

Yes I am back to Gas

Thinking of moving to the 7r3 just so sony will release a new amazing 9r because you know if I buy it 6 months later sony will release something.

Also 80% sure the CV10 is going to be sold to pick up the Laowa 15 and the 90 mac needs to go so I can maybe look at that new tammy 28-70 oh and the FE28 would go too.

What are 7r2s worth now if I sell

Well, I just received the r3 today. So far liking it. It’s off to Iceland in 10 days. Can’t wait!

Sony backlash should be huge on this, it's appalling.

for now, I've got the SY 35 f1.4 on the way, possibly my first lens this year? not bad in terms of GAS :-P

Cant find any stock of the 28-75, way too soon, so I'll just wait it out. 1:3 and 1:4 magnification is pretty darn nice, definitely would not feel the need to bring a macro anywhere.

having the 28/50 combo, I love many times, but sometimes I'm feeling 35/85, and I dont have that. FE 35 f2.8, doesnt count since it almost always goes solo. It's a shame that I cant get a full native CV 35 f1.7 ultron + pcx filter, just a super lens at a sensible size.

the other missing gap, the 135 f2 is pretty much solved by sigma, so props to them for giving me a workaround. In the end, it feels good closing in on the sony system, nearly all native is a good feeling, I can focus on drones next

Curious how you like the SY 35 when you get it. I really want a native 35 (still rockin the sigma art)

Weak colors and low contrast by sharp as a tack.

Want to say big thank you to mystick610 and Talley. Bought the a7riii and a sony 85 1.8. This camera takes some razor sharp photographs! Like whoaaa. That little cheap $548.00 lens is nasty sharp crisp. I was worried about colors. Color is good at least for me it is. Weight I did not buy a sony for weight. I'm more then strong enough to hold the camera. It is lightweight I can shoot one handed. Instead of me chasing down the focus I can recompose and photograph. Ill be sharing photos pretty soon. Once again thank you. I been with Canon since 1994. Sony is no slacker and boy people are not lying. I was told 4 years ago sony is the best by an old man. I looked at him like he is crazy. No he was not crazy he is correct.

Congrats!

the f/2.8 is small, sure it gives up a little on speed, but is that really that much loss...

I really can't see them introducing a third 35mm...the Sigma Art is nice, but I would rather have the FE35 ZA...similar in size, and that FE rendering is just something special...

I still have the 35 f2.8. I tried to get myself to like it, but I dunno. The images out of that lens are just so flat. It's really sharp, but is completely devoid of character. I suspect there's more to that than just the f-stop, but it doesn't really hold up against the FE 35 1.4 and RX1rII
