Just saw the size of the 105 on SAR, it’s HUGE!! No way I could deal with carrying that about but I bet it produces stellar images. Price is not as bad as expected either

The bokeh rendering on that lens is just gorgeous, isn’t it? Some complain about onion ring bokeh balls, but it never bothers me.

Great shot. I love a festive carnival setting. :)

it is huge. if i'll get that lens, i will just remind myself that Lisa Holloway and Meg Bitton are both using the 200mm F2. Nikkor version have 82mm Filter thread and the Sigma is 105mm, why Sigma? On one video of Sigma, they said it's to avoid vignetting. really?

That is just one of those special qualities about that lens...

Mainly because Sigma uses simpler, but larger designs to achieve a certain optical quality at a given price point

I was going to set out a comparison for all the 35mm's for size, weight, filter thread, etc but I don't think I got around to it!!

Vinz really interested in your thoughts on the 105 1.4 when you get it. I'm on the fence with that lens

Sent off my A9 for cleaning monday. Got it back today. They did the hotshoe "mod" as well. They also called and left me a message asking how they did .....did I receive it and is everything as wished.

That is good support in my book.... Imaging Pro works!

I'm actually happy on the price too. 1600 is awesome. It's big, it's heavy. For portrait sessions it'll kick butt. I just think the 85A/200F2 will provide more versatility.

Excellent image quality with great background separation. Both eyes look very well aligned with the focal plane...would love to see it again at f/1.4. :)

Thanks David. At f1.4, the tip of his nose as well as his ears would be out of focus. :-)
