What the frak!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're talking like you are old!!!!!!!!! I'm laughing Travis. I can't even remember 50.

Well, I am almost 42. My daughter is 7. If she has her first kid at 30, I will be 65 before I become a grandfather...then family history is mixed, my dads side does not have longevity...3 generations died at 78...my grandfather was the first to make it to 80. So becoming a great grandfather is probably not something I will get to enjoy.

Good morning from the backyard-
p.s. I know most full-framer's are adverse to using crop lenses. Not me :)

Potentially huge ramifications, A9 has a firmware update that gives LA-EA3 full AF ability. That translates to metabones + mc-11 giving full ability to all of canon lenses.....

that will likely trickle down to the R3 and 73.....

for me, that doesnt mean much as I'm on the native bandwagon, but for adapters, this is will be a pretty big upgrade when it happens.

Full AF ability...what does that mean exactly...I have not looked at any of the Sony adapters, does that one make A mount lenses work on FE?

just all the modes like lock-on AF, and probably video AF, nothing grayed out.

yes, for A-mount, but since the metabones and mc-11 somewhat mimmick the sony adapter, it should give canon lenses full access to AF, which is 15fps tracking in the fastest mode. Not a big deal if you dont adapt.

question about lenses and the a7r3

"The digital digest"

did a review on the 24-105.. which is currently out of stock everywhere and has been out for how long now?

anyways..

so he gives the lens a positive review except the zoom ring which he mentions at an annoying rate. but he also says its a better lens on the a73 or some other 24mp body/

but that he felt the lens didn't have the "resolving power" (I think those were his words) for the a7r3..

he goes on to say that there are a few lenses that don't do well on the a7r3 because of this..

i'm a bit confused as to what this means exactly.

does it simply mean that the lens isn't sharp enough to make all the 42mp shine.
or does it mean the images will actually look sharper/crisper on the a 24mp body vs the 42.

is this more of a pixel peeper issue?

, I know the lenses I have now (ef35 1.4 mkii and 85 GM) are of highest quality optics but i'm re evaluating my lens line up.

i'm considering 16-35 , 55 1.8 , 90mac .. and then down the line maybe the sigma 105 or sony's own 70-200f4.. I don't think I have to worry about the specific lenses I just listed .. but the 24-105 was a lens I was considering for travel purposes

from what I've gathered from FM forums is that the 24-105 is slightly better than the 16-35 (based on comparisons vs 12-24 which is slightly better than the 16-35). Along with his sticky zoom issues, I'm chalking it up to a dud sample that probably got dropped.

for your storage needs, you've got more room than me! I have a few of these bags to help organize lenses and various filters, caps, ect. It holds a ton of stuff and can fit up to a 70-200 f2.8 standing.

for intervalometer, I use: JJC TM-F2 Wire Multi-Function LCD Timer Remote For Sony found on amazon.

surprisingly simple to use yet nice features. I havent read the instructions but I know how to use it from playing with it. I opted for a wired setup simply because I didnt want to fiddle with 2 separate pieces.
