Another one from our very early (started hiking at 0600) hike at Ricketts Glen State Park.
I remember reading a blog where a photographer spent 14 hours there the first day. I can see
why, we didn't even scratch the surface of waterfalls there.

Maybe someone here recalls my mentioning of having several hundred falls within a 50 mile radius, then
there is Transylvania county a bit further away in North Carolina which is another falls Mecca, but Ricketts
is in a class by itself. Really need to plan another trip there in the fall.

According to the article, "The (Washington) Post reports the setup will allow the phone to capture 64-megapixel shots." and a couple of sentences later, "This means the photos you get may look as good as what entry-level DSLRs capture."

I think you should just get the Light 16 lens camera. https://light.co/camera (external link)

That way, you won't have to worry about upgrading your phone in a couple of years. :-)

My problem with smartphones has ALWAYS been about handling period. Its hard for me to hold a smartphone to take photos with it, and even on newer ones i find the lag between pressing and button and getting a photo annoying, not to mention fumbling with a touch screen or working with one ive just never had great results.. For me my smartphone is for quick stuff i honestly dont care about.

Anyways, Enjoy a few more A7III photos (this is all i have processed at the moment)

Usually the live view turns off automatically when using a speedlight or trigger. It’s acting like OVF. I was hoping it’s still liveview. This guy in a7riii fb group said his is still liveview with a trigger on.

i think mine is too, I’ll check tonight

if I remember the video I saw this is a complaint by a few Sony shooters. what they do as a workaround is to map a button to shot preview and press that to get an accurate preview of the ambient. maybe the guy was pressing a mapped button vinz hence why it seemed like it was still live view? ?

is it the trigger for Sony, or the Canon trigger? I remember reading that the Sony trigger is the issue, and if you use the Canon it doesn't have that issue...that said, I have not tested mine out...

I'm not sure if this is what Vinz is referring to but on my a7RIII, with my Nissin Air Commander Controller (trigger) mounted, I get the same results in "Live View Display" with the controller off or on. I can toggle between "Setting Effect OFF" and "Setting Effects ON" in the menu and see the results on the LCD.

I'm in Aperture Priority Mode or Manual Mode when I shoot with off-camera flash.

It’s to do with the setting effect on/off toggle. If it’s set to off the exposure doesn’t change on the LCD with the exposure settings and when it’s set to on it does. Adding the Godox trigger doesn’t affect this functionality. I can’t check mine until I’m home tonight though but this is the way I’m remembering it

I just checked my A7III with the X-Pro and FP Zoom TTL speedlite. Mine will show overexposure/zebras, but refuses to show underexposure when a flash is attached and turned on regardless of the LiveView settings effect being off or on. If you flip the flash to off, then the screen will show underexposure. Turn it back on and the screen will brighten up.

that's what i'm getting even if my liveview is on, it turns into an OVF(liveview off) whenever I turn on my trigger or speedlight.

Vinz, when I add my Nissin i40 it recognises a Sony flash and turns live view off automatically. When I add my Godox trigger it doesn’t recognise automatically so live view still works and you have to disable manually
