It is a fantastic optic.as i transitioned to a more lifestyle family portrait, bokeh isn't my first priority now. never should actually but your subject. on the 90mm though for a half body shot of a single subject, the bokeh is not bad. | SONY A7SIII(2) | A73 | A6000 | Sony A7IV | Sigma105 | FE1635F4 | Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 | Tamron 17-28 Tamron 28-75 | FE50F1.8 | Sony 16035F4PZ | SEL30mm F3.5 Macro | Canon 24mm TSE | Laowa 15mm Shift

I offered $25/item but they came back with hey our budget for this is only $1500 so it will go down to $15/item. of course i accepted it. wish me goodluck. I'm watching more food photography in creativelive now to make sure i'll get more info to make it successful. We already set a date and I'm going to loan the FE90Macro from Pro Support. Good opportunity to test the AF speed of the lens as well. if it's at least about the same speed as the 85GM, i might switch to the 90 macro. I shot a family yesterday and I had to be at least at F3.2 to make everyone in focus so the 90F2.8 is good enough for me. It has OSS so it should help. i'm done with bokelicious. Best of luck with the new client and style of shooting Vinz. Just keep the food bright, colorful and appetizing and you can't go wrong. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

I know you own both the 90macro and the 85GM, what can you say about the AF speed? which one is a bit faster? To me, I think they are both about the same but keep in mind that what portraits I do take tend to be static indoors. I don't have studio lights so the room is fairly dark for focusing so both lenses hunt occasionally. I think that as long as the lens elements don't have to travel from say infinity focus to close up each time, the AF speed is fine on both lenses to me. If your subject moves often or you move around them a lot, that might affect the focus speed a bit, at least initially. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

I know most macros are slow in AF department but knowing the 85GM is also slow, it might be the same. i'll find out soon. | SONY A7SIII(2) | A73 | A6000 | Sony A7IV | Sigma105 | FE1635F4 | Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 | Tamron 17-28 Tamron 28-75 | FE50F1.8 | Sony 16035F4PZ | SEL30mm F3.5 Macro | Canon 24mm TSE | Laowa 15mm Shift

I do consider a tele zoom lens for my m4/3 though since they are much cheaper Randal my better-one Poof shoots mFT a lot and she shoots bierds. flickr
