Too bad the sounds from there can't be embedded in the image too.

Sounds of me breathing hard! It was 1.5 miles uphile and I hate steps---over 800 of them. Trail is one thing, but
steps hurt my knees after a while.

Gonna just do the one for now. I have a shoot this weekend that I needed more than the V860 for. I have two stands from Impact, but will be handholding with the rapidbox too.

Travis, was this for interior architecture of portraits?

I remember reading this recently. It certainly peaked my interest. The quality control issues that Bastian encountered are a concern as is the quality of the sunstars but the bokeh, overall rendering, AF, EVF, and portability are very appealing.

interesting/concerning read but not sure if these things would actually bother me in real life shooting. Sometimes these guys are just looking for faults. 1/2000 ss max could be an issue though

Some horrible news here.
You all may know/remember I feed several hawks.
The beautiful female was found yesterday evidently electrocuted.
I'd listed to the male adult screaming/crying all through the morning, now
we know why.
I'd been feeding that couple almost four years.
Silly but I felt depression upon the discovery. I keep thinking of
the male crying out for the mate who won't return.
Her body was found off the road about ten feet a block down the road.
Large burn marks on both legs so no foul play expected.
Really bummed today about it.

On the good news side of life Adorama had the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 listed
this morning in stock so I grabbed on.

Sorry to hear about the terrible accident with the female hawk and understand how you must feel. It's why I haven't had a pet in years.

On the other hand, congrats on getting the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm.

That's dreadful news, MM, and doubtless a very unpleasant shock for you. Like Gene, I can't bring myself to become attached to a pet due to the terrible sense of loss on their inevitable demise.

Do you know if hawks take another mate after the death of a partner – or do they remain solitary.

Terrible news Robert. What would it have been? An overhead power line?

Congrats on the lens though

I'm going to splurge and get a Tether Tools cable to connect my a7r III to my Surface Pro. It only has one USB port and I believe it's a USB 2.0 A. The port looks like the pic below and I have the link to B&H for what I believe is the cable I need.

Hopefully, someone can verify I'm correct so I can 'pull the trigger'

Neither actually...its for the vintage Alfa Romeo shoot tomorrow. Several uses in mind.
