so much awesome in that set...you will cherish those images in a few years...tonight my wife and I were looking back at pictures from a couple years ago...and it was so fun to look back...my wife doesn't remember a lot of it due to her illnesses, and it also made me realize I need to do more at home...

You have a duty to shoot those!
3rd one down is a charm!

Precious photos... they will love to see those when they grow up.

Charlie wrote in post #18669240 (external link)
same here, not nearly as organized ;-)a

Thanks guys!

I seriously neglect shooting enough of the family....particularly video. The photographer in me is overly concerned with sexy and interesting subject matter...which family photos tend to not be.

I'm overall in a photography rut right now but definitely need to keep shooting the fam.

my problem with the Xpro is funny. I'm short and when i raise my camera on a tripod, i can't see the screen lol. so with my last RE gig, I used my V860II as a master trigger. and when I need more light, I can fire it as well. lol

Travis there's another way. if you have an X1T trigger, use it on the camera's hot shoe and control the light remotely using the Xpro, it will also solve my problem lol. I can walk around around the room too using my iphone to control the camera and remotely controlling the light with the Xpro.

I am tall...and still can't see that screen, it tilts the wrong way if I am shooting anything above waist level! It seems like it would have made more sense to have it striaght up and down like a PocketWizard, and then you could throw a hot shoe mount on top.

Eddie, do you still have your Loxia 21? Batis 25 is an awesome lens too.

On my wish list:

FE 100-400
FE 24-105 (or Tamon zoom)
Loxia 35
DJI Drone
Synology NAS (or Drobo)

To be honest, it's the only Sony body that has ever sparked ANY interest whatsoever!!!

For me I'd be getting better AF
Touchscreen (if it's worthwhile?)
Joystick (I did like that on the 5D2)
Improved ISO/noise
In body IBIS

Are those things worth £1700??

you've got some serious nice recent toys ;-)a

I'm going to start purging a bunch of gear in the near future, with nothing in mind yet..... going to see how long before the GAS flares up :-D

the Rx1 acquisition looks very intriguing I gotta say. Not sure I'll go that route, but it does seem very nice, and by far my most used snapshot combo of the last two years has been the FE 35 and A7rii/A7riii. Might experiment that route with the spare funds...... or wait it out for whatever sony brings to photokina.

it's a gigantic update to the A7ii, and to the A7, it's night and day. Hard to believe the cameras came from the same company, dont even look that different, but boy do they behave differently.

Still got the cv15 and lox 21 which I consider my main landscape lenses. My thinking with the batis 25 is that I can take B25, rx1rii, B85 when travelling, out with the family, away in the campervan etc. The reason is that the B25 can double up as a landscape lens where the FE28 wasn’t doing it for me for landscapes, loved it for family stuff though

Looking forward to the rx1rii, it arrives tomorrow. It’s really everything I’ve been looking for on paper. A7rii AF, awesome 35mm lens and small. Perfect on its own and great as part of the larger kit. The x100f was good but not quite there on the AF and the lens is a bit glowy wide open. Hopefully the rx1rii works as good as I think it will for me

lee, it’s available brand new for £1679 from an eBay seller I’ve used lots (kachashop) if you don’t mind grey imports. It’s posted out from Ireland.

Eddie, are you near those areas in Scotland that Thomas Heaton and Simon Baxter recently shot? Torridon I believe it was. Amazing scenery.
