Eddie, are you near those areas in Scotland that Thomas Heaton and Simon Baxter recently shot? Torridon I believe it was. Amazing scenery.

i haven’t saw the images from these guys but Torridon is about a 4.5 hour drive away from where I live (245 miles). It’s a beautiful part of the country. There’s a 500 mile route around the north of Scotland that is popular with people with campervans called the ‘north coast 500’ and it goes through the torridon area. I’m hoping to do that route next year over about a week to take in the sights

Edit - do a google image search or a Flickr search for ‘liathach ridge torridon’. It’s an epic ridge walk in torridon which is on the to do list

To be honest, it's the only Sony body that has ever sparked ANY interest whatsoever!!!

For me I'd be getting better AF
Touchscreen (if it's worthwhile?)
Joystick (I did like that on the 5D2)
Improved ISO/noise
In body IBIS

Are those things worth £1700??

Lee as Vinz would say 'Do et!'

You're going to love the joystick and the big
battery. I turn off touch screen first thing on any
camera that has ever had it. For me it is of no
use but I think some like it and I can see touch would
be great for pulling focus in video. I just don't shoot video.

The A7iii is also killer for higher ISOs.

Pancake 16-20 range works for me. I want to like the sy, but not a FL where ide be ok with a prime.

Today was a perfect use day of the Sammy 24/2.8 though I didn't even use it.
I went out for macro, slipped the little Sammy into the sling bag. You just don't know it's there it is so light.

How can I help?

Ha! You can't but thanks for asking!
It just said 'in stock' order now and I did.
Then I got the e-mail saying it is back ordered.
So you can explain that :)

For around 10 bucks, I also got a stand mount for my Surface Pro. At my age, it's great to see what the cameras LCD sees on a larger screen. I can control everything on the camera through the remote software too, including touch screen control on the Surface Pro of the focus point.

I don't think the remote view on the Surface is really all that slow as it is now and expect it to be a bit faster when the USB-C cable arrives later this week.

To be honest, I'm also looking forward to the longer cable so I can use the new laptop 'cart' I got so that I can sit down and to use the mouse and keyboard. I use a lap top so rarely, I hardly know how to use a touch pad, let alone a touch screen. My back will also love being able to sit occasionally as I set up a shot and review them right away too.

Here's a shot showing my light stand mounted Surface Pro as I took the photo below of the box the mount came in.

Hmmmm Debating on selling the Infra Red A6000. It is always in the backpack but I used it only on 2 trips last year. Could get me another $650 towards the 16-35

it's a good upgrade.

like Robert, I don't use the touchscreen. Battery holds pretty well, I had 40% left and didnt bother recharging or bringing a spare. After the little party for a little one I still have 40% with about 200 shots.

in terms of size and comparison to the a7, its bigger and heavier so you might not like that part. but ergonomics of course is improved because its bigger. It's hard for me to use the original a7 now, and yeah it's nice to have the shutter button further out again even though it didnt bother me much having it on top.

My only nit might be that I wish the background was a bit more neutral than purple.

Just the Pro, no version number. I believe the first iteration was just called "Surface" so I think mine is the 2nd version...but not the Pro 2. It had Windows 8 and fortunately, I was able to upgrade to 8.1 for free. I was also eligible to upgrade to Windows 10 but have resisted all this time.

You know, I just viewed a couple of images I posted some time ago and I labeled this tablet as a Surface Pro 3 but that doesn't seem right. I'll have to see if there's a way to figure out exactly which version I have.

Wow, I just looked up the Surface Pro 3 and I believe that is the one I have. Shows you just how much I've used it. :-) The good news is that the one USB port it does have is USB-3. Yeah!
