I've always loved listening to podcasts so I've decided to give recording them a try. I have already bought the mic which means II needed to do the mandatory product shot :p

Shot of my Backlight 18L backpack configuration with most of my lenses. The crease in my Mindshift filter holder is from carrying it in my PD backpack. The filters are fine.

I would consider putting the camera where the filter hive is....I tend to sit these bags down on the bottom, they stand up pretty good, and having the camera be on the bottom means hitting it on the ground...just a thought.

EDIT...shot a photo of the Backlight 26L as it is loaded for my work trip this week. I can see that there is room for that TSE24 in there...

Good idea Travis. I reconfigured the layout this morning. Thanks!

Haha, yes I hear that tilt shift lens calling you.

I'm considering getting a Hoodman loupe. Anyone use one to assist with focusing or reviewing images on their LCD?

Cool!

Yeah it actually feels like a proper camera with the grip without adding much extra bulk.

Well yeah back in the 1800s I had a Hoodman when I used the dinosaur Canon.
Why with an EVF?? A pain to keep up with, wear around the neck, another thing
to pack and loose.
Thinking about it now I'm reminded of the loss of the Playmemories apps and now
I don't have to carry a Hoodman but I have to carry a separate intervalometer.
One step forward=one step backward.

A "behind the scene" shot. No 'scene' itself as I've decided to go a different route but liked this shot anyway.

I finally got my 15' remote cord in and even though I need to learn my way around the Sony Imaging Edge software better, it seems to work very well. Of course, I have nothing to compare it with such as Capture One but to be honest, I don't care for the workflow in C1 and Imaging Edge is free. I think it's better than Lightroom tethering because I get a live view and that comes in very handy when I'm in a position where I can't see the camera LCD but I can turn the laptop so I can see what my adjustments to the background are doing for example.

My back also likes the idea that I can sit while fiddling with the camera settings and then viewing the resulting image. I have to admit that making changes to the camera this way is slower than turning a dial on the camera though.

I wonder if this would work for you in the field Alfredo as a way to see your images on a larger screen? I know it's far from portable though.

The LCD is hard to see in bright daylight which I often shoot in. I thought it would also help nailing focus since many of my lenses are manual focus.

Would love a setup like that Gene but I’m trying to find an alternative to Camranger. I want to use that with an iPad to show the client the compositions as I’m shooting. I think the Sony app may work but need to test it. Also need to get a new tablet. Haha.

Like you, I have mostly manual focus lenses for the Sony.

I use my Hoodman extensively with my Canon gear and at times with the A7R2, but rarely with the improved EVF in the A7R3.

If you're shooting the A7R2, you *may* find it worthwhile like I did, but I can't recommend it for the A7R3.

One slightly annoying thing I found with the Sony bodies is that the hoodman will trigger the EVF mode if you have the EVF-LCD mode switched to automatic.

I don't think Camranger works with Sony...a bunch of the RE guys complaining about that...

Yep I know. I wish it was compatible. I heard about CamFi but reviews are mixed.

Thank you. I think I will skip it and put funds aside for a lens or a NAS or a tablet.
