I was finally able to put my ship model that got damaged in "dry dock" for repair. I was able to put things back almost 100%.

Here's the before and after...

Playing with lights like Gene...and learning the new Glow Parapop, and the difference between the speedlight head and the bare bulb. Oh, and threw gels in there for the first time just to make it even more fun!

Thanks for the pullback too. The biggest issue with mirrors is double reflections. That's why I use black Acrylic Sheets. I have a 12" x 12" and another 24" x 24".

Really cool model car. Is the Porsche Museum in Atlanta somewhere? Cool place?

Today I ordered up a Sony FE 24-105mm. Interestingly both Adorama and B&H were out of stock. No worries though...I placed my order with Adorama and I'm sure they'll be getting more in very soon. Just cool to observe that the lens is obviously flying off the shelves.

Going to try something really radical with this new lens. If it's everything I think it is it's going to become my sole lens; going to sell my other lenses.

Thing is, as has been pretty obvious over the last several months, I'm not posting images much any more. Multiple reasons, but the reality is that my photography desires have diminished. From all accounts - e.g. MedicineMan's amazing work - the Sony 24-105mm is the best 24-105mm ever made and I've seen countless amazing photos taken with the ol' Canon EF 24-105mm. Next year I may want to add a 12-24mm or a 100-400, but right now a 24-105 is all I need or want.

Thanks for confirming this to me. The file size difference is huge. it doubles on the uncompressed raw. it slows down my computer.

Vinz you know I know nothing of shooting people or weddings but I shot a nebula once uncompressed, we had close to 40 light subs and 10 darks. When I threw those files
into DeepSkyStacker it choked. Luckily I had jpgs on the other card for a good outcome. Uncompressed has its place but I don't know where that might be for me. Surely
product photography?

I'm thinking same with Pixel Shift. Great concept but only Olympus can do it (as far as I know) in camera where for say a bug in the field it might matter. My personal physician, who
bought my a99ii shoots uncompressed for everything. I asked him why and he said for printing large images. I've only printed 9 images in the last 5 years so that doesn't help me either.

Sony A6700? 32mp with global shutter

https://www.dailycameranews.com …bal-shutter-aps-c-sensor/ (external link)

I'm sitting on the shekels waiting to pre-order.
It is 52 days until Photokina 2018.
I do hope they call it the a7000 vs a6700.
And it would be real nice if they announce the FE 200-600G at the same time.

yah i saw one complains about it in FB Sony A7RIII group. Thanks for the reminder and the tips to check for a legit copy

In the a9 I keep Sony G UHS-II 128gb for raw in the fast slot but crazily I keep Lexar UHS-II 2000x 128gb for jpg in the slow slot.
In the R3 I keep a Sony G UHS-II 64gb for raw in the fast slow and just as crazy I keep a Lexar UHS-I 64gb 600x for jpg in the slow slot.
In either the wallet (always on me) or in the pack/case I'm carrying I have duplicates of the above cards.
Interesting that everyone skins this cat differently.

Taken a bit later during blue hour and at 17mm to show more of the Mission in its environment.

FE 16-35 GM

I'm like Gene in that I get transported looking at this Mission. One thing I notice and really like is the vacant street leading off into the distance behind
the grounds. It's a little thing but to me adds to the overall feel.
In general I love ruins. The most fascinating one I've ever visited is Chaco Culture and we hope to visit again in December.
