My big consternation is the 24-70 range. Sony-Zeiss 24-70 bad press. Sony FE 24-70GM too heavy Canon 24-70/4 has the macro, but need the Metabones A quandary I tell you ![]() The worse quandary is the a99ii, no doubt the best camera that I have ever ever had. A man could have real problems I understand ![]() I'm a bit stuck in that situation as well, but I dont sweat it too much. Jul 12, 2017 22:14 | #1940 This is a view of the Guenther House which was originally built as a private residence in 1859 by Pioneer Flour Mills founder Carl Hilmar Guenther. You can see the Pioneer Flour Mill in the distance builtin the last 1840s. Guenther’s mill was the first flour mill and the first steam and water powered mill built in the city. - Alfredo -

Loxia 21 ![]() I suspect I would especially like this image if it was cropped square. I'd do it by cropping off approximately 2/3 of the vegetation on the right side, leaving the top and bottom alone. This would direct the eye in a cascade of compositional visual interest that starts at the top/right of the image (the tower top) and cascades downward along roof lines like a visual waterfall, finally coming to rest at the base of the image in the smooth water. That, I think would direct the eye-movement, whereas in this wider format the the retaining wall and vegetation almost create a visual barrier that makes the view to the buildings beyond almost feel voyeuristic; like we are peeking through. Loxia 21mm is wow for so much detail and color. I constantly ask myself, "should I sell the Batis 18 and 25 and get a Loxia?" It's really a special lens. ![]()

Admittedly I struggled in directing the viewer to the main subject which is the house and the mill. My original idea was to keep that sweeping line of the retaining wall but I think I left too much vegetation on the sides. Let me know if this works better. I think it does! I increased contrast just a smidge which helps bring out the texture in the buildings. Yes the Lox 21 is excellent. Caveat that I did apply my standard input sharpening, plus targeted clarity/dehaze, and then I'm starting to add some smart sharpening as my final output sharpening. Regardless, the Lox 21 is plenty sharp and has that bite in terms of microcontrast. I think I prefer it a bit more than the Batis 18 for exterior architecture and definitely more for landscapes. ![]() Yes, I like it! David | Flickr

It looks like there's a lot room on that bag. I had the Evecase XL DSLR backpack. It's great for a lot of gear but nothing else that is sizable. Once you load it with gear, all you have left are the small compartments. I returned it then bit the bullet on the Peak Design Everyday Carry 30L backpack. Best bag investment I have made

Middlezoy, Chedzoy and Westonzoyland are villages in the Somerset Levels named as islands where ØY is Norsk for Island. Not all islands are so named e.g. Glastonbury Tor. In the Middle Ages onwards Dutch artisans were employed to drain the levels thus reclaiming the land for arable farming for the Abbots of various Abbeys. Yet still, water reclaims these flat lands most winters but the flooding was so bad in winter 2013 that, guess what, only the Dutch had the skills and mega powerful pumps to finally [and rather belatedly] drain the floods. The Levels covers 170,000 acres (70,000 ha) fortunately it doesn’t all flood. Sony: A7rii

Jul 13, 2017 06:05 | #1950 GAS is starting to creep up again while I look for a 35mm option. Starting to plan for my family's first trip to a Disney World in December and started to lay out the gear that I want to take. My Sony a9, my 24-70 GM, my 85 1.8, and whatever 35mm option I decide on. No matter what bag I put it in, it'll be somewhat weighty. Because it's out first trip there I want to make sure I'm prepared. Then I read this article. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII
