I put a fair bit of research into this location. OS Maps finding pathways, the hill that might give me the best view of the remains, facing the right direction, somewhere to park, how long to arrive/walk....... I did want some mist (you may recall me saying so before....?) Etc etc

Well, I done the sunrise, got there in plenty of time, climbed two hills either side, had some nice cloud, not great light though, rattled off a few shots.... Then I headed off the Swanage (6 miles) - that was a FAIL!! They're currently rebuilding the pier.....

So, on my way BACK from Swanage (entering the village from the other side) this was the view driving down the road.......

Anyone use Squarespace to host their site? I’m going to give them a try. I’m about 50% done building the site. Really slick. Still staying with smugmug as my main site to host backups of my images and upload completed images so my clients can download them.

I considered using them before but went the self hosted route instead with Bluehost and Wordpress.org. It works out much cheaper and I have the freedom to setup my sites from scratch and host more than one site on the single hosting plan.

Was close to not heading out to this location tonight as the cloud didn't look like it would play ball but this is our second last night on the Isle of Man so it was now or never. Glad I made the effort as I managed to catch a fleeting moment of intense colour before the surrounding cloud rolled in and obscured the sun.

Good option. If I had more time, I would go that route too.

Heres a pull back shot of the photo above. At the time I thought I could use this in the weekly comp with the product being either the camera or the ballhead but I think ill try and shoot something else for that.

Love this one Robert, especially the rays coming off the sun...they are so cool looking.

Thanks Mike. I don't think many would get the FE12-24mm for sun stars though.

Yeah it honestly can be a bit time consuming if you want to really customize things or get into issues but is rewarding at the same :D
