No sorry after double checking it was indeed the 85 1.8. I corrected the lens info.

I’ll be sending my 85A to get converted soon. It destroys the Sony 1.8

Nikon's two mirrorless cameras look like they could be solid FF cameras. But they're about a year too late IMO. When I look at the a7riii, a7iii, and a9, there's really nothing that glaringly holds me back. I think I've hit my G.A.S equilibrium point.....haven't bought anything in 2018!

The one thing I'm curious about is what advantages the diameter of the z-mount yields, since a lot of the teasers seem to be emphasis it a lot. A couple of years back Sigma made a comment about the challenges involved in making lenses for the FE mount since the throat diameter was so narrow. It's possible that Nikon's mount is able to accommodate simpler, smaller (cheaper) lens designs for fast aperture glass and this is why they keep hyping up this f .95 Noct glass. I don't really care for F.95 glass as that pushes into DOF's that are too narrow for most uses. But if it means smaller f1.4 or f2 glass, that would certainly be a big advantage over Sony.

Then again the leaked photos of the nikon mirrorless with what looks like the F4 zoom don't look much smaller than the Sony F4 zooms so who knows.

How much is the conversion? I'm thinking of sending my 135 in.

Yeah I love the way it balances on the camera. Plus the 85mm working distance is ideal for posed portraits.
135mm is a lot harder to shoot with in terms of working distance.

I get weird ideas of the Sigma 105, but don't think it will work as well as the 85GM overall.

Plus of of course the 85GM rendering is pretty special.

for me, I think I am good with my lens lineup for portraits...I can't part with the 135L, even though I don't use it as much now that I have the 85GM...and the 135 hunts like a redneck on opening day when it is shooting into the sun or low contrast scenes...but there are times when it just kills it...so I can't get rid of it...

My lens lineup needs bolstering in the TSE arena...

Lol!

Yeah a solid 135mm is always useful in the bag. Less versatile than an 85, but good for really pleasing, tightly framed shots, or circumstances where you need to really compress the background.

My focus has been almost exclusively on portraits these days as I don't really have time to shoot anything else. It was simplified my gear lust a lot.

I've read it's 350..... I'll pass at that price.

On subject of Nikon mirrorless, love the potential of the wide throat, but a few things don't sit well with me.

Nikon has a historically large 24-70, and the refresh was even larger. Doesn't seem to me they care about size. The body seems substantially bigger than Sony..... More creep in the wrong direction, something that big would not interest me.

That said, these initial bodies may be the higher end where they want to compete with Sony, should they make smaller versions, they may have my attention.

I'm hoping they come out with a spectacular system, Sony could right done wrongs. Half of Playmemories is crap
