Oh I'm sure canon is going to announce something...just that the specs seem a bit off.

Exactly. I rolled the dice and went sony. I just couldn't see Canon cannibalizing their current lineup. They are not that type of company. If they do... good for them. I'll enjoy sony until it doesn't meet my needs.

The IQ on the sony files are just simply stunning. I can see a clear improvement on that front. Heck I need every improvement I can get.

rx1rii, you know you want to

Actually the rx1 cameras don't really interest me sorry  Plus for the price of one, I could get the Mavic Air and the Batis 40mm f/2/Sigma 135mm Art lenses plus some spare!

Who would’ve thunk it?! Making coffee can be very intense! Got to shoot a Barista/Brewer’s cup competition a couple of weekends ago. Here’s a couple of B&W’s. First time shooting with my new Tamron 28-75 2.8.

you need a second job and additional/hidden bank account :-P

I do think within the next 6 months, sony will have to come out with a 35mm f2.

For now, 200g more to your combo, and you can get the Samyang 35mm f1.4, which is pretty damn special in image quality, and pretty cheap for what it is.

Build isnt on par with Canon, but it's native, full featured, and IQ.....

Lee, have you ever been to the Edington Priory? It's about an hour from Bristol and inside is the tomb of Sir Edward Lewis and his wife Lady Anne Sackville. Here's a shot of their monument and the inscription there. The Priory looks like an excellent subject to photograph as well.

This particular Edward Lewis would be my 1st cousin 11x removed.

I did not take this photo but would love to see any photos you happen to take of the Priory and Tomb.

Specs look very promising, only thing I didn't see was a mention of dual card slots or not!

It is already killing me seeing this camera haha

Haha I was originally planning on doing paid photo work but since I'm both working and studying full time, I don't want to burn myself out :(

Originally I had the Sigma 35mm preordered but the Canon 35mm f/2 IS with Sigma MC-11 has been performing so well I don't really see the point in it any more. If anything, the Batis 40mm f/2 seems more enticing.

Looks like a solid camera!

I like the look of the lenses...28-70 probably really is an F2. It's huge, but that lens alone is enough to win the wedding photog market over. I've always wanted an F2 zoom.

From the look of the card slot, it looks like a single slot.

As with the Nikon..gotta see how this thing really performs, as it seems the Nikon is a generation behind on performance front. But they nailed the lenses out the gate.

No mention of eye-AF

EOS R looks pretty solid.

But I bet Sony is still a generation ahead...and fires back quickly with a really capable a7sIII.

Either way Sony cameras have hit a mature point where I don't need anything from a camera. I'm a gear-head at heart, but I think I hit a stabilization point with my gear as I haven't bought anything since the a7rIII dropped 9 months ago.

I do need an UWA at one point though.

That -6 EV AF will be intyestunt if true! I know when I had my 6D2, it was actually a bit more accurate in low light with DFAF so not surprising!

I remember Sigma tried to make their 24-70 an f/2 but it seems 28mm on the long end makes it a bit easier.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's single since this appears to be their entry level body, it should be UHS-II though since it shoots 4k.

AF wise I would be very surprised if the Canon doesn't perform well, I have the M5 and it performs really great. Nikon didn't really have any on sensor phase detect AF so it's kinda not surprising that it's not at the same level as Canon or Sony.

The one thing I am DEFINITELY jealous about is that articulating screen!
