That -6 EV AF will be intyestunt if true! I know when I had my 6D2, it was actually a bit more accurate in low light with DFAF so not surprising!

I remember Sigma tried to make their 24-70 an f/2 but it seems 28mm on the long end makes it a bit easier.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's single since this appears to be their entry level body, it should be UHS-II though since it shoots 4k.

AF wise I would be very surprised if the Canon doesn't perform well, I have the M5 and it performs really great. Nikon didn't really have any on sensor phase detect AF so it's kinda not surprising that it's not at the same level as Canon or Sony.

The one thing I am DEFINITELY jealous about is that articulating screen!

Devil is in the details. Nikon had -4ev, but it was contrast only.

Super solid lens offerings unlike Nikon.

The crop modes might be painful if Canon enforces it. Nice move on the mount, they didn't do EF mount, that would have been bad.

Lee, have you ever been to the Edington Priory? It's about an hour from Bristol and inside is the tomb of Sir Edward Lewis and his wife Lady Anne Sackville. Here's a shot of their monument and the inscription there. The Priory looks like an excellent subject to photograph as well.

This particular Edward Lewis would be my 1st cousin 11x removed.

I did not take this photo but would love to see any photos you happen to take of the Priory and Tomb.

It is already killing me seeing this camera haha

Remember I'm not educated in the pscience of photography, but on the new EOS R, the 'mouth' looks huge?
What is up with that.
At first I though it would take EF lenses (like my 400DOii) but then I saw mention of an adapter.
So color me confused.

Thanks. I had no idea how interesting my ancestors were and what their roles were in history. I've loved playing detective filling in the details of their lives wherever I can.

Since I have canon lenses I’ll eventually but a canon FF mirrorless.

I enjoy my adapted 24Lmk2 just as much as my sigma 24mm art. Next lens to but is GM 16-35.

I like canon a lot but Sony is growing on me a lot for their specific Sony render.

They have it in AF-S on the M50 and I'm guessing they already have it ready for AF-C on the EOS R, but wanted to keep it as a feature for the R and more expensive gear.

Considering this is Nikon's first real attempt at Mirrorless I would still say it's quite a decent effort and will make for a great body for people with existing Nikon lenses.

I will probably buy one later on too but in reality I don't have much need for so many bodies and the A7III does everything I want right now.

Just catching up on all this EOS R stuff. I've got some GAS right now but honestly that body is not really appealing with me. I need to spend some time thinking on it. I kind of think what I'd really like to do right now is swap the A7R II for an A7R III. I just know I'm going to take a beating on the sale. -? Also not thrilled with the size/price of the Sony glass.

Maybe if I dump the A7R II and my 50L the sting wouldn't be as bad... If anyone is interested in either of those, you know the deal. ;) I have already listed my Lox 21.

Edit: Oh sh!t! I made an offer I thought was really low on greentoe and it was accepted. I really need to sell that old A7R now before the wife gets home on the 14th!!!

Has anyone seen specifications for the EVF?

Not that I've seen yet, hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Just a wild theory but the top display appears to be an amoled display like the one on the Nikon. It so, this may mean they are using a Amoled EVF as well.

The EVF on the M5 isn't as nice as the one on the A7III so hopefully they won't be using a similar one in the EOS R.

you need a second job and additional/hidden bank account :-P

I do think within the next 6 months, sony will have to come out with a 35mm f2.

For now, 200g more to your combo, and you can get the Samyang 35mm f1.4, which is pretty damn special in image quality, and pretty cheap for what it is.

Build isnt on par with Canon, but it's native, full featured, and IQ.....

Sony a7m4 with top lcd:p gotta compete with the other two!! Or three if you count hassleblad since they were the first with it. Or was it Leica. Hmm... can't r emmeber:p

Your thinking was actually just going gt and place an offer on the camera and let that decide your fate? :p
