a9 owners.

firmware update
https://www.sony.co.uk …ilce-9/downloads/00015335 (external link)

Support of "SEL400F28GM"
Adds a [Silent priority] option to the [Aperture Drive in AF] setting in the menu.
*Using the lens "SEL400F28GM", when [Silent priority] is selected, the sound emitted by the aperture drive will be reduced. This is useful in shooting conditions where camera noise should be kept to a minimum. Note that Auto Focus may become slower when [Silent priority] is selected.

Other improvements
Improves the overall stability of the camera

(as saw from sr website)

This is great. Reminds me of something that would be a stock background in Mac or Windows.

Thanks.

I wish...that would be a nice payday...there is just something about a layered mountain range that I can't resist...I have shot this spot so many times and come away disappointed and frustrated...this is my best from there, and it still isn't what I want...I will likely try again in a few days...

Thanks Gene...shooting almost into the sun was a challenge! the 70-200GM gets some green flare if you get too much sun in the frame...

I would still imagine that scene will look spectacular when the leaves turn to Fall colors.

Oh absolutely...I am hoping that given the elevation of this area...that in about 10 days they will have started.

I drove up to Chaco to shoot the ruins with my friend Frank Ruggles at night but he had 70+ people show up for his book signing and then 25 showed up for the night shot so the Park service said it was too many to have running around the ruins and we could shoot the nearby Mesa instead. vmad

Car lights just hit right on the mesa

Love the warmth of this Travis. I'm going the opposite way, feeling blue today.

I have noticed something strange and not sure if it's just my body.

Exposure Simulation only seems to work until 2 stop underexposed. Once I go past two stops, the exposure preview does not update. I thought it may be a stuck aperture but this happens no matter what aperture I use.

Is this normal for Sony bodies to do this?

EDIT: This is in Manual mode too.
