Sony Lounge Thread MKIII (All Sony cameras welcome)

From late 1996 to mid-1999, I was part of the inspection team at the construction of three earthen dams at Diamond Valley Lake near where I live. During the process of excavating the rich clay deposits in the valley for use in the dams, many paleontological discoveries were made and because the project was so large, there were teams of paleontologists working almost around the clock recovering them. The valley became known as the Valley of the Mastodons although many other creatures were unearthed there.

This is a small fragment of a tusk from a Wooly Mammoth that was uncovered there and given to me by one of the paleontologists. It's about 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide.

This is a merge of three images stacked to improve DOF but I see a couple of fuzzy areas that don't belong.

And no shutter failures either. So I'm just wondering if it's really that much of a trade-off if you'd be able to reduce the burden of sensor cleaning on the user side. Sensor cleaning is a mental pain in the ass, at least for me.

It really seems to vary from model to model. My 1D mk2 was a real dust magnet, I was constantly cleaning it but in fairness I treated that body to some pretty extreme environments. The 5d series was much better in that respect but I really don't know why. The Sony's have been pretty good, wet clean once or twice a year depending on where I've shot.

5D has a mirror that blocks the sensor.

Sometimes the camera does close the shutter, but I have no idea for what reason. Over the weekend, the shutter closed on me while I was cleaning before my shoot. I was spraying lightly with the pocket rocket, and the shutter blades were flopping all over the place.

I'm a lens changing fool. I have to do a wet cleaning about every 6 months.

You can just shoot a burning matchstick or be as much creative as you can .. like fire can be used to describe different things i.e. stock market is on fire" , "do you have fire in you to succeed" etc.

A Magic Arm with a Super Clamp on one end to mount to your walker and a threaded mount on the other end for the video head

Thank you Lee and Eddie. It’s a concept I had in mind for a while. My goal was to emphasize the light. I hope I can continue to refine this style when the light is right. Inspiration is from an IG photographer I follow and admire named mindz.eye.
